The Beginning of The Unthinkable

Mir had already come face to face with those feelings once before when they were in the forest of the red lilies. Honestly, he was scared how to react if he were to ever face that again. He tried to pretend to not understand him and joked, “Right, so are you planning to sleep here?”

“Yes, with you!” Vinasaka’s eyes were beaming and those very words made the other beet red. Vinasaka noticed the crimsoning of his face and continued to tease him more, “Do you not want to? Sleep. With. Me?

“Wh-what are you even saying?” Mir rushed to a corner and made himself cozy trying to avoid further discussion on the topic. Vinasaka quietly walked up to him and sat beside Mir. Mir’s pupils suddenly enlarged when he felt a head plop on his shoulder. He was scared to look to his side when he looked straight ahead and found the reflection in the mirror right in the opposite direction. Vinasaka was resting his head on his shoulder without a worry, his eyes closed comfortably and looked like he was deeply asleep. He would be lying if he said that he didn't share an ounce of feeling that Vinasaka had been on about but he wasn’t sure whether they were the same feelings exactly. He really didn’t want to hurt his friend nor did he want to give him any false hopes. He was just trying to be careful.

He didn’t even realise that he fell asleep until he was slightly hit by the beam of sunlight right at his eyes from the left. He blinked and slowly opened his eyes to rub them gently trying to get rid of the remaining sleep when to his horror he suddenly realised a known figure in front of him. He looked straight into his eyes and the real horror was because the known figure bore the personality he never wanted to meet again. With a slight hesitation and his forehead becoming pale, he managed to utter, “ V-vinasaka?”

“Oh how nice, somebody at least remembers me!”

He knew it wasn’t Imay, right away. He just dreaded the thought of meeting this ‘person’ again.

“Why are you here again?” He managed to ask but somewhat knew the answer wouldn’t be satisfactory.

“Oh, it’s very hurtful to see that the only person you have longed so much to meet doesn’t welcome your presence at all.” Although his voice was full of sarcasm, somewhere the words almost caught Mir’s mind but he instantly remembered the things he made him do earlier.

Vinasaka continued, “I was wondering how that idiot managed to get you alone in a room after all this time.”

Well it wasn’t news to Mir that Vinasaka would call his other half an idiot but his mind wandered to the phrase ‘all this time’ and he couldn’t stop from asking, “What do you mean by all this time?”

“Well, I am not here to play cupid but I guess this is in a sense beneficial for me so I’ll let you in on a secret. This idiot has been holding real dirty thoughts about you for as long as I can remember.” Vinasaka pretended not to hear his own words and began to stare at the ceiling. When he turned back, he expected some kind of frown or even a smack but he was met with an unexpected situation indeed.

“Wow, are you hard right now?”

Mir was really debating on where to bury himself but this statement reminded him of something he wanted to forget and he burst out, “You both are the .Same.”

Vinasaka was slightly taken aback at the repulsive attitude but now was ever more interested. He was about to go ask him and tease him all about it when he suddenly grabbed his head and complained of it getting torn apart. Kneeling on the ground he suddenly cried in pain, “Damn this pain again!” Mir, at the sudden happening, hurried closer to Vinasaka and tried to hold him when his movements and voice both suddenly came to a stop.

“What’s wrong? Vinasaka? What’s wrong? Where are you hurti..?”

He couldn’t complete his sentence when Vinasaka looked up, his face filled with dread, “Mir...why..why are you not calling me Imay?” Mir wanted to hide this from Imay for as long as possible so he didn't want to break that side of him that Imay had always despised about himself.

“It’s like there was someone else, speaking from the inside…” Imay continued. “Mir, it is really scary. Someone is trying to take myself away from me. This happened to me before, remember Mir back when,” Imay was panicking and Mir knew that the right thing was to calm him down. His 18th birthday was nearing and it was something that everyone had been dying to avoid. Mir was afraid that all these were a result of the approaching catastrophe. Maybe it was better that Imay gets acquainted with his other half. He has the right to know after all. The moment he had decided to finally confess, he was interrupted by some shrieks that were coming from downstairs probably.

They both rushed out breaking the door in half but any attention was hardly paid to that. The entire pavilion seemed to be in an uproar. There were already a lot of people who stayed back after the wedding last night. The words echoed throughout the place. “War! War! The Clover Kingdom has declared war upon the Hearts Kingdom!” This rang like a death bell to whoever heard it. A war at this time and age meant the partial destruction of the world. A war, something that every leader of every kingdom had been always avoiding somehow.

The worst part being the heart kingdom being completely devoid of the royal members now was totally vulnerable to the attacks of the Clubs(clover) kingdom. Without another word, the entire royal family members rushed out as if there had been a silent agreement between them on separate horses. By the time Vinasaka and Mir came down, Zaharia, Mihas , Crown Princess and the Prince had already left. It was then when two huge wolves suddenly landed with a thud almost scaring the people there. Lyca nudged Vinasaka and he instantly got on top of him, “Hurry, to our kingdom!” Even if it was some words, it made all the other three of them happy even if it was the slightest. No one spoke the entire way as the two giant wolves rushed out into the woods and then to the sky. Vinasaka was probably the most scared right now since he was already confused about the soul that he had no idea about and something that Mir had been keeping from him. Nonetheless, he kept his worries to himself and continued on his way.

‘Is he mad?’ is what Mir suddenly thought but right now was definitely not the time to chat about it although ‘Vinasaka’ popping out of nowhere in the middle of the battle would be seriously harmful and troublesome for their side. He could only hope for the best.

As they almost reached and spotted the boundary of the Heart kingdom, all they could see was the flames engulfing the outskirts little by little. The pair of wolves landed near the border as they got down quickly and rushed through. Vinasaka stopped in his tracks as he saw the streets on fire, the people he had been watching since he was born were all running to directions unknown. Everything was happening right in front of him yet he was as stiff as a rock. It was like time had stopped only for him. Even his siblings were not here yet. That moment, he suddenly thought of something and his eyes visibly darkened. “Mother,” he whispered.

Soon he found a huge splash of water from the corner of his eyes.

“Go ahead, I’ll take care of this,” Mir cried as he continuously casted his spells and almost managed to bring an area under control. Watching Vinasaka not moving and staring blankly, he shouted, “Do I need to drench you too?”

That probably got him back to his senses as his eyes seemed to have regained some light and without further ado, he simply nodded and rushed off.
