Chapter Eight

*beep beep beep*

I woke up the next morning and I quickly brushed my teeth, got my things ready, and put on my clothes, and I didn't even eat breakfast, I just walked out with all my things for school.

I left so early that I didn't even see Beth. I just wanted to get to school.

When I got to school i went into 1st hour and sat down, I didn't want to talk to James here, so I waited.

"Hey, where were you this morning?" It was Beth.

"I left early," I said.

"Oh," she said.

Then the teacher walked in and right behind the teacher was James.

"Hey, Jeremiah, I was thinking maybe we can hang out later," James flirted.

"Sure," I said happily, even tho on the inside I was mad, I'll talk to him then.

In third hour I didn't even look at him, I knew it would hurt if I did.

At lunch I sat with Beth.

Me and her just kept talking about our math homework, then I saw Rylie. She was smiling and I hated her.

Finally after school was over, and I went to the walkers exit and started to walk home.

James came up to me while I was walking.

"Hey, Jere you've been avoiding me all day, what's wrong?" He asked.

"Why don't you tell me?" I demanded.

"I don't know what's wrong tho," he said.

"Think, two days ago at lunch," I said.

"It's not ringing a bell Jere," he said.

"Think harder," I said.

"Jere--"

"Stop calling me Jere, it's Jeremiah, you don't get to call me that," I said.

"Just tell me what I did wrong, please," he said.

"Do you not remember you kissed Rylie," I yelled stopping in my tracks.

"Oh!" He said.

"Oh, now you know," I said.

"Look, I only did that because people were starting to talk, saying I'm gay," he said.

"Well you are, and its not bad if people are saying that, because it's TRUE," I said.

"Okay but I don't want people to know that," he yelled back.

"Then why did you even get together with me in the 1st place?" I asked him.

"Because, I like you, a lot," he said.

"Apparently not, if you don't want people to know," I said.

"I'm just not ready to come out yet," he said, "but I do like you, and I won't kiss anyone else but you from now on I promise."

"You promise," I said.

"Yes," he said.

"Okay," I said.

"I love you Jere," he said and he kissed me on the lips.

"I love you too James," I said when we released.
