The Scholar (4)

Nti Anem stared down at the tile floors with a raised brow, “This is not stone.” he said and Ed smiled slightly.

“Because it is made by man?” he asked and Nti Anem pondered upon it, and then nodded in agreement to his pointing out his odd thought form.

“It is correct that some words like stone are considered associated with nature, but a stone is a stone no matter where it is from.” Ed said and Nti Anem nodded.

“Your scholarly form shines through right now.” Nti Anem commented.

“When I last walked this hall, I was a scholar.” Ed said.

“Where is this?” Nti Anem asked.

“The black tower; the centre of the light realm.”

“I meant, where is this?”

“A place I built, the place my student is hiding. The place he kept the key.” he said and they strolled into a packed hallway. Those around, paused as the two passed by without care.

“Who are you?” someone asked and the two paused in front of a wall.

“He should be behind here.” Ed said.
