The same day the twelve unmanned carriages cam down from the plantation, word of an intruder destroying the fortress had gone round. It was said that nothing was missing and they were probably scouts. But the mayor’s house was not taking this well. They might have tricked the public, but someone had come in and taken all the captives in the fortress. They had entered an emergency family meeting that night. The mayor called his three sons and four grandsons to his study and the room descended into a solemn mood. He looked to his eldest with a deep frown.

“You have nasty hobbies, I admit that, but to let those things put the family in this position has me questioning if to ask his majesty to replace you as the Fortress lord,” Mayor Tang said

“Oh? You can go ahead. I am sure his majesty has been waiting for us to offer back our title of lord of the northern fortress long ago. He will gladly let us be just a dukedom,” Lord Uyime, the eldest son answered.
