Agencies And Interview

The next day, early morning, Lily woke up after a comfortable sleep, eager to begin her new life.

Ron prepared breakfast for her and left a small note, which told her that he and Chan Hu had to leave for work. Now, left alone in this grand villa, Lily changed into more appropriate clothes then left her new home.

Yesterday, she agreed that she'll be signing the marriage papers today at noon so she had ample time to do whatever she wanted until then.

People in her shoes would go shopping now that they acquired a decent sum of money, or they'll stay home and procrastinate, however, Lily Whitmers was different.

She wanted to pursue her dreams and become a singer. She didn't have anything holding her back now and despite being blacklisted by the biggest agency in Orchid City, there are still many viable alternative choices.

If we're talking about agencies that deal with singers, idols, and actors, then Golden Prism is the biggest and more renowned. It has numerous world-famous actors and idols under its wing, such as Tian Tian, who's one of the top in the acting industry, his impeccable acting allowed him to rise to the top in just a couple of years.

There is also Katrina Tonwell, a british singer with stunning beauty and record-breaking albums.

Other than Golden Prism, which sits at the throne, there is the Misty Cloud agency, the Silver Avatar agency, the Light Activision Agency, and so on...

Amongst her available choices, Lily chose Light Activision. It isn't the best, even excluding Golden Prism, as it's struggling financially and many of the people working under it are leaving it for multiple reasons, nevertheless, it still remains a good starting point.

Silver Avatar had a bad reputation, such as how female singers are sleeping with their managers and other higher-ups to get benefits. There's also rumors of how the people there are forcing female workers to do sexual favors, or something within those lines.

As for Misty Cloud, it's by far the best choice for Lily, however, their standards are set very high, higher than even Golden Prism. Without connections, it'll be hard for Lily to get accepted, especially with her dark past.

Another reason for choosing Light Activision is because scheduling an interview isn't necessary, most of the time, at least.

She can barge in and attempt to get hired if her talent pleases one of the managers. She has to wait for a bit but, eventually, she'll get her chance.

Lily took a cab and headed to Light Activision, which is located at the center of Orchid City, like the rest of the agencies, though this one is farther from the rest, situated in its own little district.

For today, she put on a bit of makeup and wore clothes that matched her appearance, black jeans coupled with boots with the same color, a simple T-shirt that had a red leather jacket on top of it.

She wore her own clothes instead of the ones provided by Ron because she didn't want to rely on famous brands to get the attention of others. She wanted them to recruit her because of her talent, her voice, and not her status or money.

Thirty minutes after leaving the villa, Lily arrived before the building belonging to Light Activision. It had ten floors and didn't look too shabby, though it paled in comparison to Golden Prism's.

With a face brimming with optimism, she entered the building and headed to the reception.

"Hello, I'd like to audition."

"Continue ahead and take the third door on your left then wait."

The receptionist, a girl in her mid-twenties wearing heavy make-up, replied with a snappy voice.

Sensing the inexplicable hostility from the girl, Lily frowned but didn't complicate things, she just smiled and said,

"Thanks."

A minute later, Lily found herself in a room filled to the brim with people, mostly females. Some were reciting a script, singing, or checking their makeup and so on.

There seemed to be an orderly line but Lily soon came to find out that the queue was unnecessary as the one who called people to audition picked at random, or so it seemed.

Time crept by and it became more and more obvious that the process of picking candidates for auditioning was solely reliant on the man who came and went every few minutes. It was crystal clear that he was choosing the beautiful women and ignoring the rest, which infuriated those who waited for hours.

At some point, the man called for Lily, who stood up and was about to follow him only for someone to grab her wrist.

"Hey! I was here long before she was here!"

A girl with afro-like brown hair, black lipstick and frightening make-up, glared at Lily and shouted with an angry voice.

This, of course, garnered the attention of the rest, who were also not pleased with how Lily was chosen before them.

Amongst those waiting here, Lily's beauty was apparent. Sure, there were other beautiful young girls around but Lily had that mature charm, she was also calm and didn't bother anyone, but that didn't stop others from harboring jealousy, especially when she was picked.
