In the West : Part II

"What do you mean we are bounties?" Little Devil asked riding the horse fast, to quickly get away from the broken jail.

"I think that's our next task," Demon said, looking back, but there was no one following them.

"They will come," Little Devil said, knowing what was Demon thinking.

"You think so?"

"Yes, if there was a poster, there must be a price on his head, which they would want too" Little Devil answered and Demon just looked at him for long, all while riding the horse.

"You know way too much"

"Don't say that. Not now" there was something odd, Little Devil could feel it.

Demon didn't say any more throughout their journey.

The sky was dark, unlike the time they started the game on the train. A lot of time had passed. And it was quite, really quiet.

Both of them jumped on their feet, tying their horse to the polls and walking in the shadows.

Demon's gaze was shifting from left to right and right to left, while Little Devil was trying to look ahead, for what was hiding in the dark.

"I don't think anyone is outside," Little Devil said, taking a break from walking.

Demon shook his head as if defeated and reluctantly stepped back in hiding.

He shouldn't have uttered a word.

A shot fired just near Little Devil's leg.

"Pull in your horns, the jig is up, dude" The voice was heavy and the face was familiar. The one Demon had seen in the jail.

Little Devil didn't dare to glance at Demon and raised his hands.

"You are not from here," Jared said, striding forward and spit on the ground.

The air smelled like the gun powder and the gun was still hot as Jared placed it on the back of Little Devil.

Little Devil glanced at Demon and what he saw almost made his legs stumble.

There was a fire in Demon's green eyes.

How has Little Devil never noticed them, they were intense and shone like the lightning in the sky, powerful and dangerous.

There was nothing else in them, but just the rage, rage which could end anything in his path.

Little Devil quickly looked away. He didn't want Demon to get caught too. After all, he should have been more careful.

"We got one more here" Another man dressed in all black and holding the shotgun yelled.

The policeman from the neighboring town.

The sky changed the color again and it was daylight.

Little Devil had his hands tied behind him and was surrounded by few men holding guns.

Demon was not in sight, and just like Little Devil, the policeman was also tied.

The only difference was, he was being taken somewhere right now.

Not just somewhere.

It was the dueling ground.

Where stood Jared on one end and the policeman on the other.

Few feet apart.

Even when his hands were untied, the policeman couldn't run away. There were too many men with their aim on him.

He couldn't run.

Which only means one thing.

Little Devil was going to die too.

He could see the policeman's hand shaking as he held his gun.

*10 seconds*

That was the game.

When the hand approaches 12, they would be given 10 seconds, both would walk away from each other, and just as it strikes 12, a bell would be rung, and you have to fire.

The first one to fire wins

And the other

Dies

Little Devil knew the policeman didn't stand a chance.

It looked like his character was meant to die.

"Take your stands"

An elder announced

"Now"

The ten seconds started. While Jared walked with confidence, with no care of the world, the policeman was shivering.

*Gunfire*

The policeman's body vanished in the air and the watch adjusted itself again closing to 12

Little Devil took a deep breath and was about to take a step forward when he saw someone was already on his spot

*Demon*

What was happening?

"This folk here had accepted to duel in your place"

Jared smiled

The smile that hinted that he wouldn't let Little Devil be alive anyway.

Even with Demon taking his place

Little Devil knew he couldn't let Demon die, it was just a game for Jared.

It was just a game

Why Demon had to die

He can't die

Little Devil's head jolted up

Demon wasn't dying

Till she was alive, no one would lay a hand on him

The eye color changed

Blue replacing the black

As her hand raised in the air

"Don't you dare touch him"

A blue glazing fire emitted from Little Devil's hand knocking Jared down, instantly

But Little Devil didn't stop

Taking each of them down, one by one

*Eject him out now*

Demon was thrown outside the game

*System malfunctioning again*

*Close it*

One after the other, the bodies were falling down

"Don't hurt him"

*System back again*

*Level completed successfully. You both would be thrown out now*
