In the West: Part I

Logging in....

Player One: Little Devil

"Welcome to The Legend of Dark Fate"

"Howdy player! You have stepped in the West. Your first task is to steal the gold. Please check your hands for the weapon you have received. You will get instructions for other tasks as you complete the first one"

As soon as the message vanished, Little Devil stumbled on his legs, losing gravity and falling on the floor.

"Ouch..what the" Little Devil's gaze went up, and then to both sides. He was in a moving vehicle, precisely a train, filled with a lot of passengers.

He quickly looked down at the Avatar and could have cursed out loudly, if there were no kids around.

He was a cowboy. Hat, scarf around the mouth, and mighty boots.

"Yee-haw" jumped out of excitement, Little Devil got up and couldn't help the smile on his face.

But when his eyes landed on the weapon, he remembered his task. It was a Shooting Iron.

And there were a lot of terrified people on the train, in front of him, on the moving train.

"Your teammate will join you in

Unlike Little Devil, Demon was able to hold onto a seat, and not fall on his ass.

"Where are we?" He asked not directly to Little Devil, who then showed him the gun they were holding.

"Howdy Stranger, we are cowboys, on a train, looking for gold" There was a constant smile on Little Devil's face.

"We are in a Bad-Box, let's Gitty Up"

Demon shook his head and looked at Little Devil as if he was speaking a foreign language.

"Don't tell me you have never been to the West?" Little Devil started walking now, trying to keep a straight face.

"Nope, I haven't"

Both of them raised their guns and soon there was a commotion among the passengers.

"Please don't move and nobody gets hurt," Demon said to a few of the men who were trying to get up from their seats.

"I didn't know there would be children too" Little Devil whispered looking at the family.

"Wait. I have seen this place before" Little Devil stopped and observed the train again.

**Error in system**

For a small second, his Avatar blinked and the train seemed to halt, but it was for such a small instant that no one could notice it, even Little Devil seemed oblivious to it

**System responding.**

"You have been on a train before in the West?" Demon asked, still moving forward.

"Hurry up, Dude," He said when he noticed that Little Devil wasn't moving.

"Uh. I might have seen it in a movie or something" Little Devil said and started advancing again.

They increased the pace covering one coach than the other.

"What is plan A?" Little Devil asked as they moved.

Demon turned back and raised his eyebrows.

"Have you ever watched West movies? It's never really this simple" Little Devil could sense that something was going to happen.

"I never had times for those"

They both had reached the coach that wasn't filled with any single human.

"This had to be it," Demon said and started inspecting boxes.

"Yes," Little Devil only whispered, still fazed by the surroundings.

The inside of the train looked old. It was still running on coal and not electricity; which meant that it didn't belong to this year; Also the fact that they were cowboys. It wasn't adding up or maybe this was the first time they were brought in the past. Maybe that's why it felt different.

"Are you even listening to me?"

Demon had been talking the whole time when Little Devil was trying to make sense of what was happening.

"We need to blow it open and then"

Both of them looked at the entrance of the coach at the same time. There was a commotion. Unless a second ago it was all silent and now they could hear *heavy boots*

"Someone is coming. Not just anyone"

Little Devil nodded and stood up instantly. He peeked out of the entrance and then looked at Demon.

"It looks like Hair in butter. You need to pony up and skedaddle"

"Hurry and go" Little Devil repeated in layman's words for Demon to understand.

Demon only smirked and picked up the box with the gold.

"Take this and jump out" Little Devil could only open his mouth and close it since no word would come out of it.

"I will distract them and keep them here. We don't know the numbers, so we might not be able to beat them all" Demon peeked this time.

"But"

"No, take this and jump now" Demon commanded and handed the box to Little Devil.

Little Devil had no option but to strode towards the exit.

The speed was not too fast.

There was an upcoming bridge.

He had to jump before that, to lose the trail of the policemen.

"Hurry," Demon said urgently standing close to the entrance.

Little Devil looked at Demon one last time before jumping out of the train.

Before he could experience the fall, the system message popped up.

*You have completed task one*

Standing down Little Devil looked at the passing train, which had stopped. He knew, no one was coming after him. And most probably Demon had been arrested.

So it was time for the Plan B

"Rot in here"

The policeman said as he grabbed Demon and pushed him into the jail.

"Got a half-wit city slicer here. Any word on Jared?" The policeman approached one of his other men in uniform and lit a Quirley.

"The word on the street is, he ran away to the neighboring town"

Another one said, taking a puff from the first one.

Little Devil through the knot of rope, around the horns of the ox standing, dragging it with him.

Riding the horse, he reached to the hoosegow and tied the other end of the rope to the bars.

*Thumb*

Demon's gaze suddenly shifted and he looked back at the source of the sound.

*Thumb*

Both policemen were too involved in the conversation to notice

*Gunfire*

It was time

The ox raced in the opposite direction

Demon moved to the side as the whole wooden wall from behind him got pulled off.

"Howdy! Let's Gitty Up" Little Devil yelled out loud, and patted the horse to his right.

"I guess I knew our next task" Demon said, as he mounted the horse.

"We are bounties"
