"How long until the Kings Match," I ask, I know the Kings Match is random in time, called whenever the King decides, usually when in dire need. Not much is known of the Match, the last one was four decades ago.




Ryker is the one that answers my question. "We should arrive in less than four weeks. You are the last to be collected so a week after our arrival. The King wanted the last one collected to have more than a day to recover from the journey before the Match began." He responds detached as if sounding bored.




"You speak as if I am an object and not a person. Lovely." I say dripping with sarcasm.




"Ignore him. He sees everyone as objects or objectives, so do not take any offense from it." Stated his twin Casey, I raise a brow at that. Both twins have timbre like voices, however, Casey is like silk while Ryker is rough.




I let out a giggle at a thought that went through me, one I could not help but laugh at. Both twins look at me with raised brows wanting to know what is so funny.




"You two would be amazing to bed but complete opposites it seems in how you would handle a woman," I say with a lightness to it. Duncan who was drinking water gasps as he nearly chokes on a laugh. All the men look at me for a moment before laughing, Ryker a rasp of a low laugh. All except Koal who just smirks, better than the emotionless face.




While I had them laughing I couldn't resist the urge to add, "Actually I think you two together in bed with a woman would be a combination no one could resist. Especially how you two would meet all needs." Saying this the laughing turned into howling from the three others. Ryker looked at me, intrigued as if actually considering it, while Casey had a blush come across his dark skin, still laughing.




"Seems you need a better man in your bed if you are considering trying to get the twins into your bed just to fill your needs." I turn to the voice of no other than Koal, with a challenge in his eyes.

The King's Match

I awaken sore, my body has never gotten used to sleeping on the ground, the bedroll does little to cushion the rocks and uneven turf. Once I have my bearings of remembering where I am, I start to hear some chatter, quiet yet light. The shadows in the men's eyes seem to have left them as well, they are all awake and seeming to try and stay quiet for my sake.


I stand and head to the tree line so that I can relieve myself and head to the stream farther down to clean myself off. Right before I head into the trees, I feel eyes on me, I turn to look over my shoulder and four men are looking at me with evil grins. I feel it just before it happens, I have just a breath of time to react.


Casey leaped down in front of me from a tree while Ryker whirled around the tree to my left. I had enough time to release my short swords and block both men before they could land a blow. By the look Casey has, he did not expect it, however, Ryker had the glint in his eye as if he did not expect anything less.


I loved this, honestly, I did no one thought to try and surprise me anymore except my enemies. This would be fun I thought, which brings a wicked smile to my face.


Ryker reacts first after my block, pulling back to strike me in my thigh, I pull back from Casey and parried Ryker. Casey tries to take advantage of my attention being on his twin, but I don't ever let my attention leave an opponent even if I have more than one.


Casey goes for my side, only for me to block and twist with the momentum to strike on Ryker, he blocks my blow. However, with only a few maneuvers I have the twins standing side by side now instead of having one at my back.


Ryker has a look as if he is having fun and finds this like foreplay, his brother however looks royally pissed off. It only makes me smirk at him, which seems to drive him mad.


Both twins launch at the same time at me, coming at me from either side, I push to the middle going between them by blocking both of their blades. I turn faster than either of them and have my blades at their necks before they could turn a muscle.


"Now boys, mind if I go freshen up?" I say so sweetly it is almost sickening to hear even to my own ears.


Ryker turns after I lower my blade and smirks, still having that glint in his eye. He throws out his arm and bows to me, raises his head, and has a mischievous smile before he straightens, he says, "Of course my lady."


I look at Casey, he is still fuming at the fact I beat him and his brother. As I pass the twins I could not resist, but run my hands on their arms and say, "Good game boys." This seems to snap Casey out of it as he stares at me and a slow smile appears on his handsome face.


As I make it a few steps into the tree line, I am almost convinced one if not both of them would try and follow, only for me to hear.


"Down dogs." From Koal in an amused laugh.
