Chapter 4

Tuesday morning was a little to tense for Sheena. Everyone was on the edge and she completely understood why.

Right before she and Kylie left, news reports say that a five year old girl died from drowning in a pool.

And yes, it was the mysterious girl that had been "following" them. Coincidence? No it couldn't have been. This was far too accurate to be one.

"What do we do now?" Sheena asked Kylie. They were outside the cafeteria right under a huge tree with a mat splayed under them.

Jackson's words were engraved on their brains so for their own safety, they distanced themselves from other "people". Some noticed, Sheena was sure. But nobody asked. And it lead Sheena to the thought that the Order must be aware that they know about them now.

And no. It wasn't good.

"We need to plan with the others. We can't just make any decisions without Kyle and Jack" Kylie had a point. It was hard to move without everyone's opinion. One wrong move and they could be signing their death certificate.

"What do you think happened?" Kylie continued when Sheena furrowed her brows in confusion "To the girl, I mean"

"The news said she drowned-"

"I know" Kylie cut her off. "But do you think she really drowned? What it was all a public experiment?"

It could be a possibility. The Order had eyes everywhere. Well, that was what Sheena learned when she saw a camera planted on her living room wall. It was covered with the picture frame that was already there when she first bought the house.

No wonder she felt watched at night. Sheena shivered at the taught of being watched.

"Go on" Sheena urged. This was a good theory.

"The order somehow knew that we knew about this.. situation. Remember the paper? The one that Kyle saw outside? It said 'I see you' didn't It? It must be from them!"

Then it clicked. Kylie's words rushed towards Sheena's head, straight to her brain.

"The strange feeling of being watched... Kylie! Oh my gosh.. They were watching us! They were watching me eat, sleep.. they saw me bathe!" Sheena rambled on. She was sick to her stomach. The old comfort and security she felt towards her home vanished in an instant. Only leaving the lingering feeling of fear.

"Cameras?" Kylie muttered. Yes. It had to be.

"Yeah" Sheena answered

"We need to tell the others then!" The two girls both stood up and ran towards the parking lot, ignoring the questioning gazes of students and staff.

Nobody went to stop them though, only confirming Kylie's suspicion.

They know.

Sheena got in her car while Kylie jumped on the passenger's seat. Turning the ignition on, they sped off towards Jackson's home.

_

The car slowly came into a stop. The familiar trees and cabin came into their view. No words spoken, they both hopped off and ran like their lives depended on it (which it did) and burst through the wooden door, startling the two men inside.

"Fu- n.." Jackson caught himself from swearing for religious reasons. "What the heck are you two doing?" Kyle continued instead, clutching his chest, his lungs slowly returning to it's normal pace.

"Let's not talk here" Sheena cut off Kylie who was about to spill everything.

"There might be cameras here too. They'll know our plan" Sheena muttered under her breath.

"Go pack all of your belongings. Every clothing is necessary. And cash, grab lots of cash" Kylie ordered. Yet the two boys stood still, confused and maybe a bit terrified.

"Now" Sheena hissed. She didn't want to be so mean. It's just that time isn't really their friend at the moment.

Everybody scrambled to their feet as Kylie packed everything from the Kitchen and Sheena packed her's and Kylie's clothes, other necessities and the book.

"Hey! From my view point it looks like you're robbing me, you know that?" Jackson said as he walked towards the living room with the biggest duffle bag Kylie has ever seen.

"I know. I'll pay you back everything. Right Now, we need to scram" Kylie said in a low voice, not knowing if Jackson heard her or not.

Soon enough Sheena and Kyle returned with bags of their own, Kylie's bag slung over Sheena's shoulder.

"Thanks" Kylie said as she took her bag.

"Let's go" Sheena looked at the house one last time before walking towards the front door, her three friends trailing behind her.

_

"Let's go" Sheena said as she looked at her three friends that were still seated. They had taken a little break from the road and now they're at the heart of the city, where celebrities often lived.

"We just arrived" Jackson said as he munched on chips.

They were eating at a convenience store, since Jackson had been complaining about not eating and since being drove off his own home.

"Sheena, I think we should tell them now" Kylie said as she glanced around. They were the only ones who were seated at the tables. The only person that wasn't with them was of course, the cashier.

"Okay. Story time" Kyle childishly said as he straightened his sitting position.

"Where do we start? Okay. So Kylie had com-"

"The order knows that we know about them" Kylie bluntly cut Sheena off.

"...ahaha That's a good one. Now, the real reason..?" Jackson said as he nervously looked for some kind of emotion to cross the two girl's eyes.

And he didn't find any.

"No way. What the fu-"

"That's why we left in the first place. Who knows what they would've done if we stayed there" Kylie said as she looked at them seriously.

"Where do we go now?" Kyle asked.

Everybody was caught off guard. Where would they stay? They fled each one's houses. They can't go back to Sheena's.

They'll get caught for sure.

"I have one place. It's also probably watched but it's the last shot. We could just leave in the morning. Besides, I need to get something from that place too" Jackson said as he stood up, making the others stand up as well.

Jackson, was serious.

Like DEAD serious. It made everyone scared, including Sheena. On a normal day, you'll never see Jackson as serious like he is right now. And seing him, the prankster, looking like this?

It made everyone follow suit. They were afraid yes, but fear isn't what they need right now.

They need a plan. They need to be strong if they wanted to get answers.

Everyone got on their cars. Jackson was leading while Sheena followed. They were connected on the phone for communication. Earlier, Kyle said that he felt something wrong, he insisted that they should atleast have some sort of communication while driving. And if something ever goes wrong, they could just tell each other.

And it was a good desicion on their part.

The silent drive was suddenly disturbed by a soft 'pop' and a yell from the phone call as Jackson's car swerved, coming of the road and hitting a big tree.

Screams. Everyone screamed and Sheena, as fast as she could with her trembling hands, followed where Jackson's car rested, smoke coming out of its hood.

"Jackson!" Everybody yelled in unison.

Sheena scrambled to open the door, but it was jammed. She was already smelling the gas in the air and it wasn't a good sign.

"Move" Kyle pushed her gently as he kicked the door repeatedly, finally busting it open at his 13th attempt.

With trembling but strong hands, Kyle pulled out an unconsious and bloody Jackson. Realising a breath of relief when Sheena found a pulse.

Kyle and Kylie had somehow already placed Jackson on the backseat of her car, Kylie brushing Jackson's head while Kyle pressed on Jackson's bullet wound.

"Is it open?" Sheena asked while driving.

"No. I think the bullet is still inside of him" Kyle said as he checked Jackson's stomach.

"The bullet missed his vitals. The shooters know what they're doing. They're doing this to scare us" Kyle muttered to himself. It surprised Kylie and Sheena to know that he knows what he's talking about. And the emotion somehow offended Kyle.

"Hey. I know I'm stupid and unemployed but I know things" he grumbled.

Sheena zoomed on the open highway, her speed wasn't enough for the 'police' to stop them, but from onlookers, it does look a little intimidating. One wrong twitch or even a small bump on the road can cause the car to spin out of control.

Thankfully, they made it safely. Just as Sheena got out of the car, she opened the backdoor hastily, garnering looks from doctors and nurses who ushered to help them.

"What happened? Explain it to me briefly" A doctor, or a surgeon around her age said beside her. She only noticed now that they were running like in the movies. IV's and other things Sheena doesent know what to call, were already connected to Jackson's body.

"Ah.. gunshot! We- we were driving and gunshots! Then- he.. he-"

"Shhh" the doctored muttered softly catching her offguard.

How is he so relaxed?

Idiot. Ofcourse he is. This probably isn't the first time he saw something like this.

"Breathe. I can't understand when you speak like that" The doctor said relaxed, but rushed at the same time as he gestured the nurses to go without him. The nurses, along with Jackson, disappeared behind double doors.

"Okay. We were driving then we heard a gunshot. Then he bumped into a big tree" Sheena said. It was still a little jumbled, but the doctor understood.

"Okay miss. I'll need you to stay here and wait after the operation" just as he was about to walk way, Sheena held the doctor's coat, stopping him from his tracks

"Dr. Save him"

"Please"

_

"Please?" The woman in the Tv said as she desperately clinged to the male lead. It's been an hour and a half. Yes, it wasn't even that long since the operation but Sheena, was anxious.

Kylie have fallen asleep on Kyle's shoulder. Glancing at her wrist watch, Sheena noted that it's 4:32 pm.

Suddenly, the doors of the operating room opened, making Sheena automatically stand up. Kyle gently shook her sister's shoulders which woke Kylie up.

The doctor spotted the trio and Sheena noticed that he wasn't wearing his doctors coat, instead he was dressed in scrubs.

Can a doctor be a surgeon at the same time? It's impossible though, he's my age.

Sheena shook her thoughts away. Now wasn't the time to be daydreaming. Her friend just got surgery!

"Are you Mr. Wright's family?" The doctor.. surgeon approached them. Stopping right infront of Sheena.

"Yes. We are" Kyle answered. The doctor skeptically wondered his eyes on the trio infront of him. It was clear that he wasn't convinced at all, but still, he gestured for them to follow him.

"The surgery went fine" He started. "It was a good thing the bullet missed his organs, or else he wouldn't be so lucky" Sheena vaguely remembered Kyle telling them at the car about the bullet missing intentionally.

"He didn't injure his head from the crash. So, he'll stay for a couple of weeks until he's all better" The doctor finished as they stood in front of Jackson's door.

Right behind the doors was a already awake Jackson.

"Hey" He muttered softly, his eyes taking in the sight of his worried, but relieved friends.

"Jackson, you're stupid" Sheena sniffled as she hugged Jackson softly, minding his wounds.

"What she said" Kylie also dived in after Sheena as Jackson chuckled lowly. Patting Kylie's head, he turned towards Kyle, who was looking at everything but Jackson.

"C'mon bro. You know you want it" Jackson teasingly opened his arms, to which Kyle responded with a soft punch on his shoulder.

"Don't scare us like that" Kyle muttered as he hugged his bestfriend. To which Jackson responded with a chuckle.

From the door, the doctor watched silently in awe and slight envy at the three friends. He knew that they weren't really blood relatives, and yet, he was glad that he still chose to show them were their friend resided. They may not be family by blood, but they sure are bonded by memories and love.

He was pulled out of his reverie when a female, the one that begged him he remembered, stood infront of him.

"Thank you so much for saving my friend Dr..?" He mentally slapped himself. How could he forget to introduce himself? He's been a doctor for almost 4 years and he couldn't even do it right.

"Adler" He said.

"Dr. Adler. You don't know how much this means to me" the doctor only smiled and said that he was happy to help. He exited the room, but not before telling the girl that he'll come back to check on the patient later.

_

And true to his words, a couple of minutes later Dr. Adler came back. The four of them were discussing what happened, and what was their next plan when the door opened.

Dr. Adler walked in, with a syringe. He quickly explained that it was for the pain since Jackson has been complaining that he's stomach, or more specifically, his operation hurt.

"There. If it wears out, just call me or a nurse. They'll help you" the doctor said as he turned around and was about to leave.

Everything that happened in Sheena's life wasn't planned. The attack, the terrifying truth, and the accident.  It was faith-no. It was the order playing with them. And everyone in the room certainly didn't expect what happened next.

It was like it was all planned. The doctor accidentally pricking himself on the needle, his blood accidentally landing on the book that was in Kylie's lap. And the words that suddenly appeared, shocking everyone.

   The five is complete,

The games had begun.

A crash. Gasps of surprise. And a thud.
