CHAPTER FORTY-FIVE

I asked Roman to come in after all it was the best chance for me to ask him about William's past. And if William was at home then it would be impossible for me to even have a talk with Roman.

So how can I miss this golden chance?

I made two cups of coffee and placed one in front of him. We both were sitting in silence until he broke it and asked the most stupid question to make me angry again.

"So, are you feeling better now?" he asked taking a sip of his coffee.

"Pardon?"

"No, I mean after what happened that night, are you feeling better now?" he again asked but this time the uncomfort was clear on his face about bringing that night again.

Come on Roman is there any need to ask this? How can someone feel okay after having a trauma not that because what William did after I woke up is way too much?

So I spoke again, "Yeah yeah, I'm absolutely alright after all facing death to this close is normal for people nowadays, right Mr. Roman?"

Sarcasm was clear in my voice but still, I controlled myself to go overboard. After all, I needed him to bring William's past out of his mouth.

"Well, I see you are still angry due to what happened that day, and it is your right too. So, I don't think so I have held off saying anything about this matter," he replied in a gentleman tone.

"Whatever," I replied with only a single word.

"And I can also assume that you invited me for a reason otherwise you don't even want to talk to this person who is behind your current condition right now, am I right Mrs. William?" he asked taking another sip of his coffee.

He put the cup down from his hand on the table again gain his straight posture leg upon the other leg and said, "So, how can I help you? Just go ahead and ask I'll not tell William anything about this, you can trust me on this."

What? He knew that I was inviting him with hidden agenda on my mind? But still, I said nothing and obeyed me like a gentleman? God, I wish his best friend could be like this too.

"Ha ha ha (awkward laugh) if you are insisting me this much then I have no choice but to ask directly but I hope this thing will remain only between us no third person."

"I promise now go ahead and ask whatever you want to need and I can sense that this thing is definitely about William so don't worry he will never find this out." he gave me his words.

"So... Amm can you tell me something about William's past?" I asked.

He raised a brow at my question and questioned, "Which part of his past you want to know, just spit it out Jen believe me I won't tell anyone."

The honesty and sincerity were clear in his eyes so I couldn't control myself more and blurt it out.

"I want to know about his previous girlfriend like how they met? What happened after that and why they broke up? Also why William hate to every time when someone talks about his girlfriend?"

The moment I said those words the color on his face turned white. He seemed really really really shocked that how on earth I know about William's ex-girlfriend.

He stayed quiet for some time and I also didn't dare to say anything maybe he was finding his words like from where to start. I gave him his time to process everything.

I didn't want to make him uncomfortable in any way possible.

After some time he took a big sigh and spoke again, "She cheated him in vary miserable state as she possibly could do."

"I want to know from the very start like how they met? Tell me this first." I replied.

"Why you want to know about him it's not like you like or love him in any way so... What's your agenda?" instead of replying he again asked his stupid question.

And God knows how to answer this stupid question of him.

"Hye, isn't it unfair that he knows everything about me but on the other hand, I know nothing about him?" I said childishly.

"Fine! so how about this, I'll tell you everything about his past life including his girlfriend thing but in return, you have to tell me that why you killed Jackson, deal?" he put his offer confidently also shamelessly.

Wait how can I tell him something really important about my life?

"How can I trust you?" I asked.

"You have my words, isn't it enough?" he stated sternly.

"Deal. But this thing will only remain between us even you have to behave like you know nothing."

"Deal," he said

"Deal," I replied.

"Now tell me how they met and what happened after that," I said.

"It all started when he was still a child. A pure, innocent child who knew nothing but how to smile and laugh on his full will like all other children." he started to tell me William's life story.
