Chapter 20

Detective Garrett rolled in unison with John's now road riding Kia. As she passed Agent Jones, she threw him a wink and a laugh. His nose was huge and looked extremely painful.

Agent Jones didn't find her laughter funny in the slightest and quickly entered his vehicle. With a slam of the door he was on his way to catch up to the escaping cars.

Shortly, Detective Garrett could see Agent Jones approaching at more than double her speed. Every bump in the road sent his car sliding. Right in front of her was John and Sherlock. She had to play buffer if this was going to work out.

Sasha turned and saw the quick approaching car. She wanted to intervene and help but Detective Garrett insisted she save her strength.

With a wave of her hand, "Don't worry Sasha, I went to Police driving school with Jones. I was number one and he barely passed. Watch this!"

A flick of the wrist and a tap on the brake Detective Garrett flipped her car around one hundred and eighty degrees to face Agent Jones. This maneuver was called a J turn and Garrett had mastered it.

The perfectly executed move caused Agent Jones to swerve. Because of his high speed he was unable to keep the car from spinning out. The spin damaged his transmission and his engine.

Agent Jones would no longer be a problem. At least for the time being.

His tires smoked crazily and filled the area with a fog of tire stench. He could be heard yelling and looking at his car trying to determine what was wrong.

John was now less than an hour away from Langley, Virginia.

The rescue mission was a go and honestly, it wasn't as hard to get there as everyone had assumed. The agents weren't too smart, especially Agent Jones.

Sasha closed her eyes and fell asleep, building up all the energy she could before the rescue took place.

Not one of them knew how difficult it would be to get into the base let alone bring another being out of it.
