Reacreational Days

"Are you okay Kenny dear?" I nodded in response. "Then why were you tossing and turning last night?" "I had a weird dream." If I had told my mom the full truth, she would have thought I had gone crazy. "What was it about." I made up some lie and dressed. A bowl of cereal and vanilla milk was awaiting me. I gobbled it down quickly and headed to bathe. Today is the day we meet up for karaoke so I made sure that I smelt nice and dressed well. I ended up wearing black track pants with a white stripe on both sides, a white plain T-shirt, and a black hoodie with white and black sneakers.

I sat on a bench near our rendezvous area. Soon I was greeted by Alex wearing shorts, brown slippers, and a black T-shirt. We patiently waited for the girls to arrive. After a few minutes, Samantha arrived in a gray T-shirt and a black skirt with black leggings underneath. Soon after Ayumi waved at us in her black dress with flowers all over it and black short pants underneath. We all congregated and engaged in conversation before the concert started. Soon a crowd of people swarmed into the center of the park as they waited for karaoke to commence.

We all got some ice cream and it was a struggle surfing through the crowd while holding them in our hands. Alexander's ice cream touched someone's shoulder and a huge argument broke out in the middle of the park. I tried to break them apart but forgetting I had an ice cream in my hand as well, I made things worse. "You stupid kids. You ruined my shirt." "Sorry." After apologizing we made it three the crowd. Some kids were on stage singing some songs and they looked as if they were having fun. They sang to their hearts' content.

Then Samantha went on stage. She sang seven years old by Lukas Graham and we all were shocked. She had an amazing voice which made the entire crowd go silent as they listened closely. Some of the crowd even recorded her. She hit each note perfectly as she left us in awe of her great voice. When she was finished the entire crowd applauded as she walked off the stage. We were hesitant to go on stage after that. Even though we weren't as good as her, we got some applause and we had fun so it didn't matter. We strolled through the park after the concert ended.

Some of the kids that watched the concert approached Samantha and asked for her autograph. "Why didn't you tell us you can sing." "Can sing is an understatement. Dude, she was great." "I agree, you really surprised us all." "I sing in my free time to prevent boredom. Didn't know I was good at it though." "You gotta stop being so modest. You were awesome!" "Ken is right. You were great out there." Ayumi complimented her after hugging her. "We should come back here sometime when we get the chance and have some more fun." I suggested.

After talking for a bit, we attended to the stands that were set up next to the concert. Alexander was elated to see an arcade set up near the concert and spent most of his time playing arcade games. There were other fun games that the rest of us had partaken in. It was so fun to relax after a long semester and an exhausting camp. We spent the rest of our day relaxing in the park and conversing with each other. It grew dark so we all head home and got some rest. I had a strange dream as I confessed to Ayumi. Before I got the answer I was woken from the feeling of scratching.

I opened my eyes and a kitten was resting on me. I yelled for my mother and she explained how he was at our doorstep keeping lots of noise at night so she let him inside. I fell to sleep midway through the explanation as I felt his soft fur and heard the soothing sound of his purring. My mom removed him from on top of me and I went to the library with the others. I went inside and used one of the desktops and played some Roblox with Alexander as we waited for Samantha and Ayumi to arrive. When they arrived, they had some books in their hands which they spent the rest of their day reading.

The next day we spent our day on the basketball court. Alexander played with Sam and I played on Ayumi's team. Despite I was on the basketball team it wasn't an easy win as Alexander was a casual player but he was really good at basketball. It was a close win. I showed off the skills I learned at camp. We worked up a sweat and took a break when we saw Ryan. Unlike our expectations, he ignored us and used the other side of the court in peace. For some reason, there was a solemn look on his face but we weren't really bothered since he was a jerk to us.

The following day we spent our day playing Brawlhalla and Roblox. We had some fun as it was a nice way to relax after yesterday's workout. Ayumi wasn't that good at gaming and Samantha decided to spam for the entire day. It was a contest between me and Alexander. I ended up losing because Alexander got better after using all of his free time to grind. I went home after having the time of my life. I rested knowing that I had to meet Ayumi at the beach tomorrow. I would finally get the chance to read a book written by Ayumi herself.

I drifted to sleep wondering what the book would be about. It could be an action-filled story or a story about an interesting adventure. Maybe it was a modern-style slice of life or a medieval story. With the number of possibilities, my dreams were scattered and I had multiple dreams about stories. Despite the genre, I knew it would be a great story since it was written by Ayumi. She's smart and great at literature so my expectations were high. I was roused from my sleep during the night after a long and enticing dream about Ayumi. I blushed as I put my pillow on top of me and let out a muffled grunt.
