Treasure

To Zhan Wei each of these battle techniques didn't just have different set of mnemonics, abilities or qi flow , the underlying principles, the intent behind each one was different and unique.

As he looked at it, each stroke, image and carving on the monoliths seemed to emanate a form of rule and rhythm.

Were this battle techniques ?, it was simply art to Zhan Wei, having had his fill he finally went to a corner and sat cross-legged, there was only little time left before noon, the fascination brought by the three battle techniques had made him almost neglect the last stage.

Closing his eyes he meditated on each battle technique, in his mind his he performed every move, the qi flow, meridians involved, the intent and state of mind within every technique flowed through his brain rapidly, after a while Zhan Wei opened his eyes and stood up.

It was almost noon and the rest were already rounding up their practice while Zhan Wei stood at a spot, at first he clenched his fist then opened them and brought out a sword and held it with both hands, then he would use his hand to carass the body of the sword.

Few of the participants watched Zhan Wei before focusing on their practice, although his actions was a bit strange everyone was rushing to try master the battle technique they had chosen to some level, no had time to think of what he was doing

But to guards that were just there to watch, Zhan Wei's action was a stupid, he had spent most of his time looking at the monoliths now he was wasting more time idling, after a while Zhan Wei replaced the sword with a saber and held it with both hands before carassing it, the guards froze...., What sort of  fool was this.

Zhan Wei repeated the same thing over, at times his fist after a sword then a saber.

He was so serious with his antics that one guard who was impulsive almost couldn't restrain himself from rushing towards Zhan Wei and slapping his face.

To the guard it was fine if this trash didn't know anything but why was he pretending as he was doing something, if not for the fact that he had to obey orders he would rush towards him and slice him with his sword, the three battle techniques on the stone monolith were the core battle techniques of the guards Bright jade City, Zhan Wei practicing this way really infuriated the guards.

But from behind on the platform the reaction of Lu Zhenchuan and the Elders was different.

Those who could head a vassal force like Lu Zhenchuan or become an elder of the Mystic Heaven Sect had to at be of the Purple Palace Realm, while to others Zhan Wei was just doing rubbish but it wasn't so for them.

those in the Purple Palace Realm had open their mind sea, the spirit sense sensitivity was extremely powerful, to these people anytime Zhan Wei clenched his fist the qi in his body flowed along the meridian route of the Jade Breaking fist, anytime he held a sword or saber, the qi in his body also flowed along the meridian route of the Extreme light sword and Life Severing Saber respectively.

It was just that he just clenched his fist or held the sword or saber without erupting with his qi so those around couldn't detect anything but Lu Zhenchuan and the rest could clearly monitor his qi flow with their strong spirit sense.

It was a bit baffling, each technique had it's own unique qi circulation route along the meridians, it took a lot of practice to be able to master the circulation route of any technique so why was this kid doing it so easily and he was doing it for all three battle techniques.

Although it looked simple, the truth was that Zhan Wei was cheating a bit.

Each battle technique had three principles ; Form, Qi Circulation and intent.

The Form was the posture and stance of the  battle technique, for Zhan Wei these stances were not really difficult to ingrain into his mind, then the Qi circulation this was where his cheating came in place.

To others the Circulatory routes for any battle technique was difficult and it required a lot of practice and perception for cultivators to be able to move their qi according to the circulatory of the battle technique being used.

Cultivators usually used their spirit sense to help move their qi along the desired circulatory route and according to the third stage Zhan Wei's spirit sense was just middle tier but after his experience with opening his innate sea, Zhan Wei knew if it was within his body he didn't really need to use his spirit sense as his Primordial Chaos God Soul was extremely more effecient.

But it was only just now Zhan Wei taught of using his Primordial Chaos God Soul in this way.

After seeing how it easy it was to move his qi according to the circulation route of the three battle techniques Zhan Wei had a flash of inspiration and tried something he had never before.

Pausing he sat cross-legged, this time around he didn't try the battle techniques and he revolved his usual Basic Qi condensation technique, before opening their heaven meridian Qi cultivators could only use their consciousness to revolve their Cultivation technique but after opening the heaven meridian where cultivators could use their spirit sense, it was faster and more effecient using the spirit sense.

As one's cultivation level increased the strength of their spirit sense also increased and so the speed of absorption of spirit qi of Cultivators in an higher realm was greater than those below, but now Zhan Wei wanted to use something else to replace his spirit sense, his Primordial Chaos God Soul !.

His pores opened as spirit qi poured into his body and using his Primordial God soul to control it the qi ran along the circulatory route of the Basic Qi condensation technique but unlike before the spirit qi circulated through his body in just a short period of time before reaching his innate sea.

Compared to before, using his Primordial God soul the speed of his qi circulation was up to five times faster and that was only because it was the limit of speed his meridians could bear without straining them, yet Zhan Wei still noticed a flaw, his spirit door !.

The spirit door was the channel to the innate sea, for others depending on the level of their talent the width and flexibility of the spirit door was extremely large but for Zhan Wei probably due to his Origin Void Constitution it was bit small, even if he could increase his speed of circulation the amount of qi he could absorb any point in time was a small, still Zhan Wei was satisfied compared to before the rate of qi entering his innate sea was twice faster.

Even to others of low level talent this speed of cultivation wasn't of any magnitude but to Zhan Wei it was progress.

Zhan Wei stopped, next time he planned on reducing the speed of circulation of his spirit qi to the amount his spirit door could handle, any more was a waste as he couldn't absorb it, but for now he didn't forget that the fourth stage was still going on continued training the battle techniques.

From the platform the Mystic Heaven Sect Elders and Lu Zhenchuan were shocked, they had just watched Zhan Wei practice battle techniques then he switched to cultivation and his cultivation speed doubled, they already checked his results in the previous stages so they knew Zhan Wei had the " Origin Void Constitution" , so how had his cultivation speed doubled using the same basic qi condensation technique.

After their initial surprise, the Elders didn't put much thought to it again, probably Zhan Wei had a treasure which could increase his speed of cultivation.

Apart from that the only noteworthy aspect Zhan Wei had shown throughout the disciple recruitment test was that he was probably a battle genius, although this form of talent was good, to the Mystic Heaven Sect this kind of talent wasn't really much especially when his other attributes were still bad, as for any treasure Zhan Wei had the Elders didn't think much of it, many cultivators had all kinds of opportunity, if Zhan Wei's opportunity was so good his cultivation level wouldn't still be low, only the eyes of Lu Zhenchuan flashed with a strange glow.

A treasure that increase the speed of cultivation of a trash like Zhan Wei by double who knew by how much his cultivation speed would increase after getting his hands on it.

Compared to these Elders, he's condition was much worse, one could not look at the fact he was sitting with them, in the Mystic Heaven Sect his rank was lower, it was just that they were on his turf he could talk to them on a bit of equal grounds.

Lu Zhenchuan was the City Lord of the Bright Jade City but he was just a vassal figurehead, compared to the behemoth of the Mystic Heaven Sect, the Bright Jade City was nothing.

Although the Bright Jade City made a lot of money everyday but most of it went to the Sect, the pay of Lu Zhenchuan and the rest of the guards was just a small percentage.

Maybe the Elders wouldn't think much of Zhan Wei's opportunity but to Lu Zhenchuan he had to get his hands on it.

Lu Zhenchuan kept quiet as he thought of what to do.
