Enter Jason Falk

"My name is Jason Eric Falk and I was born in Deer park Kentucky. I joined the military directly after high school and earned my bachelors in human science on a base in the Middle East." Jason repeated to himself as a light swung from a cord above his head. He sat in the middle of an empty house as screaming and gunfire echoed outside.

He was taken prisoner after the attack on the UDG capital failed. The attack that he was taken prisoner during happened one month before the events that put the world in its current chaos. The UCA set out to attack the capital again and free all prisoners of war. Dirt fell on him as artillery shook the building around him. Two men barged into the room scarves covering their faces but Jason can tell by their uniforms that they fought for the enemy.

They spoke in Arabic while taking looks at him.

"What the fuck am I going to do while I am tied to this goddamn chair you stupid fucks!" Jason yelled at them.

He could feel his face turning red from anger. To him, they acted like he was the dumbest person on the planet. They began to approach when a girl came charging in and stabbed both of the UGD soldiers. She began to plead in Arabic as she cut him loose.

He picked up a rifle and turned to her.

"Are you wanting to come with me?" Jason spoke while making hand signals.

She nodded in agreement as she picked up the other rifle. Jason couldn't see anything to tell her intentions as she was wearing the traditional headdress but had goggles over her eyes as well. They brace themselves as they charged out the door. Slowly they went down an alley surrounded by gunfire and debris from fallen buildings.

"Go that way." Jason whispered pointing down an alley to their north.

They had been met by a road swallowed by a gunfight. Cracks of rifles from both sides came in quick succession. Jason tried to lean out to see who was on which side. He got a two-second look before he was engulfed by whistles of shots missing him by inches. His new companion pulled him into the ally saving his life.

"We have to find a way out of this!" He yelled but still could barely hear his own voice over the gunfire.

More bullets slammed into the entrance of the alley causing Jason to jump back. His new companion pointed to a ladder that led to the roof of a nearby home. Jason nodded and covered her as she slowly climbed to the roof. Jason began to climb as artillery came in and shook the ground causing him to almost lose his grip.

"I am good, I am good." Jason whispered to himself as he finished climbing the ladder.

As he got to the top he put his belly to the roof and slowly made a crawl to the edge of the building. He found a battalion of UGD soldiers firing into a crowd of civilians that started to fight the government. As Jason began to raise his rifle to fire a UCA gunship made a run over the battalion of soldiers barely missing the building Jason laid upon.

The gunship made another run over the building without firing a shot. Jason smiled at the girl who had been with him and nodded.

"I think they saw us." He gave a small celebration as a rifle shot went past his head barely missing.

"Fucking shit!" He yelled rolling over firing several shots in the direction of the gunshot.

The girl crawled up beside him and assisted in the covering fire. The beat of helicopter blades could be heard in the distance approaching. With each beat, more and more relief came to their bodies. A smile he couldn't stop started to cover his face as the United States Army logo flashed in the sun.

"We need to cover them until the helicopters can land." Jason spoke slowly and made hand signals again.

The girl nodded and kept on firing. Jason didn't think about the fact that they didn't have any spare ammo to reload with. Sweat began to drip down his face. With each shot, he could taste the salt from the sweat. The dreadful sound he didn't want to hear came all too soon as the hammer began to click into an empty chamber.

As the building began to get drenched in gunfire one of the helicopters landed on the building. The windup of an energy gun began as a commander yelled and waved them up. Jason held down the girl's head as they ran aboard the helicopter. Under the intense gunfire, they lifted off and began to leave the city behind.

"Thank you so much sir!" Jason yelled over the beat of the blades.

"Your welcome privet, no man should be left behind!" The commander yelled back.

They held eye contact for a minute as if they had been reading each other's minds and sharing thoughts.

"Who is your new friend?" The commander asked stealing a look at the girl that freed Jason.

"I don't have her name yet but she is on our side." Jason said giving a kind look at his new friend. The commander gave a nod then handed Jason and the girl bottles of water.

"It is time to get home because we have birds coming over to drop some new bombs." The commander yelled just as the doors shut around them.

Jason laid his head back and closed his eyes shortly before falling asleep. In his dreams, all he could see was the room he was locked in. He could move any part of his body. He was stuck looking up at that goddamn light. The light did nothing but spin in circles and if they came in and it wasn't spinning they would start it back before leaving.

"I want out of this goddamn room you fucking bastards!" Jason heard echoing in as he jerked awake.

Gasping for air Jason saw they had just landed and that he was still safe.
