As reports of attacks pour in from the countries around Africa more and more world leaders are starting to look at the events within the continent. What was found was a united peoples and a new man ruling the country, but he was nowhere to be found to be observed. It turned out that he wasn't within this new united land at all. He was on the front lines with his people and fighting for their new unified goal. That new goal from what could be gathered through spies was to take over the land around them. This wasn't a new idea by any means, but this was the first time that no one was able to fight back without dying either way.
All of the countries around the world have formed a fear in the shadow of now knowing Africa was now moving as one. Even if the virus wasn't spread around the world no one could stand against the united power of the African military might. Within the week of being invaded Italy had fallen due to their inability to keep their soldiers protected from the virus. Their masks had interchangeable filters, but lacked replacement filters after stationing their troops across the frontlines. Each soldier went through one or two filters per every twelve hours depending on if they got involved in a firefight or not.
Italian citizens on the other hand got dragged out of their homes by force and executed. This caused war casualties to rise quickly over time. As the numbers rose by the thousands with each passing day which caused their government to give in to save who they could. After the treaty was signed they tied the Italian president to a post in front of the capital building exposing him to the virus leading to a slow death. The whole event was broadcasted across the planet by the African soldiers.
No one yet knows if the African soldiers could survive in the virus without the masks they had on. From the way they could fight and no one saw them change out any filters on their masks during the fight. From the reports that had been given by survivors the African military wore the gas masks just for looks. Fear only grew after it was made public that the virus didn't effect the soldiers that had come from Africa. This fact made them a larger threat than what they had started out as.
A month after the fall of Italy documents had been leaked from all of the worlds major powers revealing that all viral weapons had been bought from Africa. These documents created a theory that Africa had developed a vaccine to make their people immune to the virus. This kept in mind means that they had been planning this move on the rest of the world for years before, or at least someone had been planning it well before the union of Africa. World leaders soon started planning a way to fight back soon after the documents had been made public. With America being torn apart the world lost around a quarter of its military strength to fight back.

"Jason!" A voice yelled from behind him as a hand shook his shoulder.
"What?" Jason's voice was groggy as he turned around to find no one.
The world seemed to turn slowly as he turned around. He did see a crowd behind him, but not one of them had a face. His sight still shook but nothing around him shook itself. It was like just the air itself moved without moving the objects within it. He walked closer to the "dolls" that stood around him as a haze grew thicker with each step he took. When he finally got close to one of them he began to choke on the air which was heavy with the haze.
Out of thin air he felt a pressure easing his head up and a gas mask seemed to materialize around his head. His breathing began to get easier as the seconds with the mask on passed. Slowly the real world formed around him as he could see he was laying on the ground with two figures looking down on him. Sand floated around behind them as he could see a hole had been blasted through the walls nearby. As he scanned the room bodies littered the room around him, some of which had been ripped into pieces.
"What happened?" Jason's voice was weak and raspy as he spoke.
"We got caught up in the bombing that cleared out the nearby cities. We have to get out of here as fast as possible and if we are lucky an aircraft may still be intact." One if the masked people spoke quickly in response to his question.
"Fuck." It was the only word that Jason could think of that could describe what has happened.
Slowly they eased Jason to his feet revealing that he and the two soldiers holding him up lived. His eyes fell on one certain body that was laying nearby. Adira was pinned to the ground with cement that was laced with rebar. On her face was a cracked gas mask, but that wasn't what had killed her. The sand around her was caked with clotted blood and pieces of other bodies. With a shudder his legs gave out once again at the sight of her laying lifeless under the cement.
"We need to get out of here Jason!" One of the masked soldiers yelled and they lifted him back to his feet.
"Yes we do." Jason said as he started to calm himself.
"Then get up." The soldiers said as they lifted him back to his feet.
After slowly getting back to his feet Jason and the two remaining soldiers slowly made way to a nearby airbase. To their dismay most of the hangers had collapsed in on themselves either mostly or completely in wake of the bombings. They made way to one of the half collapsed hangers finding a slightly damaged Osprey helicopter. It was repairable, but it would take a day or two before it would be finished.
"Could we fix it?" Jason asked as he sat against a nearby wall.
"Yes we could do it, but it will take maybe a day or so. That is if we don't stop working on it." One of the masked soldiers said giving a thumbs up.
