Ch 2 Part 5

The meeting hall was roughly a ten-minute walk away. They walked at a normal pace as everyone was on high alert. Arlynn and Tarai watched them walk past. When they thought they were not being watched by them, they lightly nodded at each other. They both headed toward the backside of Arlynn' s home. Not realizing they were being highly watched. The betas underlings busy sending signals to their superiors. With orders being sent back to keep a watchful eye, they returned to their positions as they watched the two discussing something in what they thought was secrecy. Little did they know they were already being highly watched by almost all members of the pack that could be trusted.

Once they got to the backside of her home, Arlynn looked around carefully to make sure there was no one in the immediate vicinity. Tarai looked at her as if she had lost her mind some, everyone was going to the meeting hall, who was left to even watch them? All betas and their subordinates had to attend at the word of the Alpha. She could not help but get a little agitated at her actions.

Tarai Bennion: "Would you please stop walking around like an idiot looking for people that are already in or on their way to the meeting hall. Do you even realize how idiotic you look at the moment?"

Arlynn Bennion: "I do not. How could you say that to me?

Tarai Bennion: "Just shut it! What did you want to talk to me about anyway?"

Arlynn Bennion: "We have to do it while she is on the way to the meeting hall. Look at her, she was supposed to be broken beyond help, and yet she walks with no help at all now. It has only been roughly six or seven days since the water incident. We have to kill her while they make their way there."

Tarai Bennion: "Do you realize, she is guarded like no other. That one feral we were looking into hiring; you already know his price will double for a spur of the moment. I do not know if we have that kind of money."

Arlynn Bennion: "But you told me we had enough stashed away to accomplish this if it came to it. Now you are telling me we do not. What the hell happened to all the funds we spent so much time saving?"

Looking away from Arlynn, Tarai looked off into the woods. Arlynn was furious, hands shaking to her sides demanding to know what happened to their funds. Tarai just kept looking off into the woods before she sighed heavily, looking towards the ground. Tarai turned and looked at Arlynn and finally told her.

Tarai Bennion: "I had debts that needed to be taken care of. Neither of us are mated yet, but that does not mean things in this life are free. Outside getting our food from hunting, there are still other things that have to be acquired. I had to settle up my credit debts, they gave me no choice."

Arlynn Bennion: "What the hell!!!! And you waited till today to tell me this. We could have come up with a different type of payment for them. Now, I am not sure what they would take as payment. I suppose I could always offer them you. You screwed everything up and now there is no other way to pay them."

Tarai Bennion: "You think I am going to let you use me as some kind of fucked up payment? I do not think so, you even think about it, and I will send you instead."

The betas that were hiding in the trees were watching the confrontation unfold before them, mind linking to the superiors. One that was close enough, relayed their conversation word for word as they were continuing their argument. Orders were being sent to them that if they spoke to the feral, they were to apprehend him if he moved into a compromising position. They all stood around basically holding their breaths waiting to see what would happen, how they would react and what was going to become of their argument. The next thing they knew, the two arguing went blow for blow. It appeared whoever lost was going to be the one sacrificed to whatever they were arguing about. The underlings sent back a mind link to their superiors regarding the situation.

Beta underling 1: "Sir! Sir! There seems to be some sort of odd problem here. These two are now kicking each other's asses. It appears to be some dispute about money that was spent for hiring a feral."

Beta 1: "What!!!! There is a feral in the village somewhere! This is not good, keep an eye on them. I will send word to the Alpha and see what he wants to do. They move anywhere past that house, pick them up immediately, understand?"

Beta underling: "YES SIR."

With that information, the beta went to inform the Alpha.

Beta 1: "ALPHA! We have an emergency of sorts."

Slowing his pace slightly as they walked to the main hall, he was mind linked by his first beta.

Adie Bennion: "Yes, what is it? What has you calling so desperately?"

Beta 1: "We have a problem. There is a feral or possibly several feral, in the village. It appears that Arlynn and Tarai were planning on paying him, but they are now going blow for blow for whatever reason."

Adie Bennion: "Get some of your other underlings on it NOW! Send those who know our peoples scents well, I will get in touch with the tracker and get him on it, now search them out!"

Beta 1: "YES SIR!"

Getting in touch with the other three lead beta and the tracker named Felex Backlund, who was the very tracker that knew which one of the two pushed Sachi. Adie ended up making a ten-minute walk take almost twenty. His people secretly scrambling all over the village in search of any and all feral.

Adie Bennion: "Felex, I have a most important task for you."

Felex Backlund: "What is it sir? I am here to serve."

Adie Bennion: "I need you to scour the village for scents that are not of anyone you know regularly. We have feral wolves in our midst. Search them out. I have already got the betas ready to pick up Arlynn and Tarai."

Felex Backlund: "What! Yes sir. I am on it. What happened that this is going so quickly?"

Adie Bennion: "Arlynn and Tarai are making a scene as we speak behind Arlynn' s home. It is a dispute over the payment that was supposed to go to the feral. You deal with the feral, I will update you as needed."

Felex Backlund: "Yes sir, I am on it."

All Betas: "Yes sir!"

With that, the Alpha broke his link to the tracker and everyone else. Adie looked to his son's and his daughter with a nod of his head, his son's faces hardened, and they formed a slightly larger spaced ranked system around them. Just in case someone tried to come in from the crowds lining the walkway.

Keyon, Cowen, and Farrel's faces were scanning the crowds harshly. From the left, Keyon spotted someone moving along the rooftops, mind linking to some of the betas, he let them know of the person slinking around. They affirmed his directions and some of the underlings were going to work catching the possible feral. As they continued on with their job, Arlynn and Tarai's fight was growing intense, till Tarai realized that people were already on the move. To many different smells at once hit her to close to them. The breeze decided it was changing directions and she could smell the feral wolves getting closed in. She stopped mid punch when she realized, they were had, and they did not even prepare anything in advance. Arlynn landed a blow while she was distracted.

Overwhelming anger and frustration filled Tarai as she realized that the slow walk was a setup, looking at Arlynn, she decked her one last time before screaming at her.

Tarai Bennion: "You stupid bitch. You do not even realize we were set up! The meeting is official, but the slow walk and all the added stuff, they set us up. They wanted us to make a mistake and we fell right into it!"

Arlynn Bennion: "Why the fuck should I believe you?"

Tarai Bennion: "You stupid bitch! Nothing is going to get into your thick skull is it? They already had people searching the village for feral wolves! We have been watched the entire time she was recovering; they already knew it was us!!!"

With those words, Arlynn's face fell flat as she looked around panicked. Sure enough, there were pack members closing in on several points around the village. Arlynn knew they were screwed, this was it, they were going to get disowned and kicked out of the pack, at the very least. Worst case scenario, they would both be executed for their betrayal. Looking around both of them were panicking unsure of what to do. Their plans had been discovered and nothing would save them now. Their dreams of trying to be with the ones they fancy from the Crimson Lunar pack, shot to hell. Both breathing hard, they tried to figure out if they should just run or if face the consequences of what they have done. Tarai's face fell as she realized, neither of them are mated, Selene the Lunar Queen does not forgive those who do harm to their family.
