Ch 2 Part 6

It dawned on Tarai a little too late. Her and Arlynn both would be doomed to be mate less the whole of their life. Their destined partner would be given another. Harming one's family is the same as harming the goddess herself. It was at that moment, Sachi stopped dead in her tracks. The back guards bumping into her accidently. Her mother looked at her partially panicked, she had raised her head and her eyes were rolling back. This only happened to their best seers, or druids.

{{A seer or druid was the ancient equivalent for a medicine man. They held the knowledge for most things. Considered on almost prophet level, oracle, they were considered to be a magical people that spoke to the gods. The only ones who where trusted with most ancient knowledge concerning their peoples beginnings or secrets.}}

Only they had the ability to speak to Selene the Lunar Queen. Staying still, Sachi's mind was flooded with a decree of sorts. Her mother finally managed to calm down some. She seen her special mark glow on the star points, her only thought, "I guess that must be part of the specially marked ones". She placed her hand upon her daughter's arm. What came out of her mouth shocked everyone. As she began to speak, it was loud enough for everyone in a twenty-meter radius to hear clear as day.

Sachi Bennion: (Speaking in a voice that was not her own, it echoed as if yelling in a cave…) "I, Selene the Lunar Queen am speaking through my charge. As she is the special one born to unite my children, I send the destined pair when everyone is to divided. I decree here and now that any that harm their family outside accidental while trying to protect, shall have their bonds removed. They will no longer be allowed a mate; I will strip them of their ability to be with someone, alone with half a soul for eternity. Their destined mates will be assigned to another. I will not take their ability to defend themselves from harm, but no longer will they be able to fully transform. They will have to make offerings to me daily for as long as I feel they have repented for me to change their fate. When the two that have caused harm to my special charge are caught, you current Alpha of the Sanguine Lunar Tribe, will henceforth banish them. If they cannot repent in the years to come, they will remain feral. Any who repeats their heinous actions will receive the same, those who do not adhere to my directions, will die. Let the other tribes know my decree, spread the order to as many lands as your people can reach. I am not going to have my children acting as though they were born human, I only give that leniency to those who started out that way while they adjust to our ways, as that is only fair. I have spoken."

Rushing in to catch his daughter, the Alpha stood there wide-eyed trying his best to let the words she spoke sink in. Thankfully, there was no bad consequences to killing those who would attack loved ones. Her brothers turned looking wide-eyed themselves, they were not sure what to say. Each time they wanted to form a word; their mouths just hung open like fish. The people that had heard the decree, began whispering loudly almost in disbelief, but they were there, they could not deny what just happened.

A sharp, yet dull pain hit both Arlynn and Tarai at the same time. Falling to the ground, they grabbed themselves as each curled into a ball. Screaming in pain, each of them yelled as most of their transform ability was being suppressed. As they had not found their mates, they could not transform anyway, but the pain of having their wolf suppressed was almost unbearable. A small voice filled each of their heads, "show repentance, make offerings daily, the offerings do not need to be animal, I leave you the ability to defend yourself with your claws, that small concession I give you". Tarai screamed once again, she knew she had pissed of the goddess and nothing would help her other than listening to the voice. Arlynn continued to stare at the pathway to the meeting hall, hatred in her eyes, she had heard the same words Tarai had. She screamed once again, her thoughts, "why should I, I just want the one I love". She screamed once again, a voice once again saying, "your mate was never them, this is a punishment, show repentance, follow traditions and stop trying to be human, for you are not one of them". Through gritted teeth, she just stared toward the towns center, she could not believe it, even with all the pain, the denial was strong.

The betas underlings that had been watching, stood in their hiding places dumbfounded at what they had just heard. At least those who were close enough to hear, were all in shock. Underlings were busy mind linking their superiors telling them what was going on with them. Some still clearly puzzled over the voice they heard, when their superiors told them to get a hold of Arlynn and Tarai, they did not question their orders and went straight away to secure them, despite the fact they were busy screaming on the ground. It did not matter, they followed orders.

Continuing to the meeting hall, her father carried her cradled in his arms. Clearly the goddess speaking through her made her quite tired. She was not asleep, but she needed time to regain strength in her muscles once again. She looked up at him, apologizing for the inconvenience. She had not realized how big her father actually was till now. She had to look up at him, even in his arms. Her body fit inside his arms, with what felt like room to spare. His shoulders, almost seemed as though they were three feet wide, his height was roughly two meters tall, maybe a little more. She looked at her brothers, they were roughly the same height. All she could think to herself was, "damn, did not realize I was living with giants", and giggled at the thought. Her father looked down as they sped up their walk to the meeting hall.

Adie Bennion: "I am still in awe over what just happened. I scarcely no where to begin with all of that information. But by goddess, I will not defy the Lunar Queen. Her direction were quite specific. The people that were here will be able to back us up unless Selene has more to say."

Sachi Bennion: "Father, I could already feel that the goddess has stripped them of their wolf for the most part. I am more than sure they are on the ground and I am more than sure your betas have already found them."

Adie Bennion: "Yes you are right about that. Felex has already gotten one of the feral wolves as well and has at least three others that do not belong here pinpointed. We will have this solved today, thanks to the goddess's help."

Ceilic Bennion: "No kidding. My dear, I suggest when we get to the meeting hall, anyone that has the messenger birds that can go far, be sent to the neighboring tribes. Those who can travel to the tribes within a week's walk maximum, be sent out with a copy of the decree. I am more than sure our daughter can write it down."

Adie Bennion: "You know I will. I am not going to defy a direct decree from the goddess. I would be an idiot. Besides, the betas underlings will be meeting us there with Arlynn and Tarai. This is going to be a long day, I can already feel it."

The rest of the walk to the main hall was filled with silence. At least by Sachi and her immediate family. Others however were still talking about what had just happened. Betas and their charges were busy scouring the village for the feral wolves and the underlings were on their way with her sister and cousin. They all had heavy hearts as they knew what had to be done, their goddess had given them a direct order, it did not make their pain any less at the thought of banishing them from their home. Their feet seemed to feel heavy at the thought as each step brought them closer. The hall was already abuzz with pack members when they finally arrived. People slowly walking in and taking their places as the Alpha and his family made their way to the front seats.

Sachi was till in Adie's arms, slightly embarrassed that she was still being held, but after that contact with the goddess, she felt drained. Pushing their way through, he set Sachi in the seat and the rest of the family sat down beside her in the front row. Ahead of them, the elders sat upon an area with a large table that appeared to be at least three meters long, elders sat every half meter as they spoke among themselves. One member had been still heading to the hall when the goddess had spoke through Sachi, he sat with a semi blank stare, still absorbing what had just happened before they arrived.
