IT HAPPENED SO FAST

Sam now knew all there was to know about everything Lex knew. Like how she had the oldest spirit to ever walk the realm living inside of her. She also learned that Esree was not just the witch that saved her from death, but was known in all worlds to be the strongest sorcerous to walk the earth.

Sam realized that she needed to know everything about her past to know how to overcome her future and therefore did not stop Lex when she spoke of that horrible day. The day is known as, "The Day of Slaughter', in the spiritual realm. Never in the history of wolf kind has such massacre ever occurred. It was only hours later that Sam realized they were still locked within the small room.

"Esree?" she called out as she stood by the door, knocking softly. "Can I come out now?" She asked almost teasingly. The door swung open and a disheveled Esree stood there, tears brimming in her puffy red eyes. Her nose was n bright red and her hair stood in a crazy mess. Her usually stylish and elegant clothes were replaces with baggy pants and an oversized jacket. She was wearing two different colored socks and Sam realized that every piece of clothing belonged to her. Without warning, Esree jumped forward and wrapped her arms tightly around Sam, sobbing loudly and apologizing for locking her up.

"Shh Esree, I'm alright now. If you take a look at the room you'll feel better that you locked me up instead." Esree lifted her head and peered into the destroyed room. With a loud gasp, she pushed past Sam and rushed into the room.

"Samantha, what happened?" she asked looking at her with wide eyes.

"I met my wolf. Name's Lex." Esree stood, mouth agape, looking at Sam through different eyes.

"May...may I meet her?" She asked slightly hesitant. Sam smiled softly and nodded before calling Lex to the surface.

Her amber eyes changed into golden orbs and her teeth sharpened slightly, the angles of her face became sharper and her golden hair was invaded by streaks of silver. Her ears became sharper and her body stretched a few inches taller and her nails turned into claws.

Esree stood flabbergasted as Sam changed in front of her very eyes and became a strange mixture of Sam and Lex.

"Hello, Esree. I'm so glad I can finally meet the one that saved my other half. Lex stepped forward and out of instinct Esree stepped back. "You must not fear me young one. I am here as a friend to you and to complete Samantha. You needn't worry, I could never harm you." Those words seemed to calm Esree down and Lex took another step forward. This time Esree extended her hand and Lex shook it firmly.

"You called me young one, but you were born the day Sam was if I am correct?" She asked confused then frowned when Lex smiled knowingly at her.

"I was born 700 years ago today, for the purpose of being Sam's second half. And as I told Sam I have waited for her."

Esree nodded understandingly and waved her hand over her head. With a soft enchantment, the room started repairing itself, but Lex did not yet give control back to Sam. Instead, she studied Esree as she commanded the objects with her hands and said the enchantment repeatedly as she worked.

"Esree?" she asked and she stopped and turned to her.

"Yes.. um. Lex?" She asked hesitantly stopping her work and turning to her.

"Would you teach us your art?" Esree stood astounded and stared at this strange being that looks like Sam but also does not. Instead of speaking, she nodded then turned back to the room, but before she could say anything she heard the soft whisper of her enchantment coming from behind her. Once again the objects in front of her started moving and finding their places in the room. Not wanting to be left without anything to do Esree whispered her enchantment and together they worked to fix the room. It took them no longer than ten minutes before the room was complete. Before Esree could ask Lex any questions she gave control back to Sam.

"That was so strange," Sam said as she looked back at Esree. "I could see everything she was doing. I felt her power, heard her thoughts, felt all her emotions as she worked with you. She was in control but she did not overpower me. If I wanted to I could have taken control." Sam did not wait for a response as she turned and left the room.

"Hey, you want some breakfast?" she called over her shoulder. "I'm starving." Esree followed her out and once again locked the door to the room. As she walked she waved her hand over her body and whispered 'vestimenta sua' her clothes changed to a long elegant emerald green dress and her socks changed into beautiful black heels.

"Show off!" She heard Sam calling from the kitchen before she heard her whisper the same thing. She couldn't help but laugh as she entered the kitchen to find her in the exact same clothes she was in. she seemed almost frustrated and to be having a conversation with herself. Esree realized she was talking to Lex. She moved past her and started on the breakfast while Sam learned more things from Lex.

Without warning, Sam whispered the phrase again. Esree turned to find strange patterns glowing on Sam's skin. They seemed to be alive, each pulsing on its own, and just like that, her outfit started to change. Instead of the jeans and t-shirt, she was expecting Sam changed her outfit to a type of battle outfit with tight-fitting black pants and a black long sleeved shirt. The pants had straps around her thigh and just below her knee. All equipped with weapons of various kinds. The shirt also had a strap seeming to twist around her waist and over her shoulder. A long sword hung from her back with two silver blades strapped on either side of it. A gun was strapped to each thigh and her belt was filled with shots. Esree found that the one gun was a short barrel shotgun. With symbols of various kinds carved into the weapons, Esree knew Sam was preparing to train.

Esree stood back as Sam looked up at her with a devilish smile. "I think I'm ready to train don't you?" She asked as she looked down at her outfit. Esree looked down at her shoes and saw she was still wearing slippers.

"Sweety, you might want to change your shoes as well. Sam looked at her feet then burst out laughing. "Yeah don't think they'd take me seriously if I tried to kick them with my fluffy kittens." Together they laughed as Esree finished the breakfast. Sam quickly changed her shoes into combat boots also equipped with silver daggers, hidden on the inside. They ate in silence and soon Sam was in the backyard aiming at small targets. Luckily the backyard was part of the forest and Sam did not need to worry about nosy neighbors. Esree jumped as another shot was heard then shook her head. The spellbook in front of her seemed more interesting, due to the fact that she has never seen it before. It was given to her a few days ago by an elder from her coven. It was the book used by the great sorcerer who created the doorway between realms. Many of the spells were written in an ancient language and she could not understand but some were written in Latin and she knew many of them already. Suddenly a strange thought occurred to her. Without hesitation, she headed to Sam and caught her just as she threw both of her daggers at the un-suspecting tree, before darting after them and catching them before they made contact. She stared dumbfounded at her before shaking herself back to normal.

"Sam dear, you have been practicing for more than 4 hours. I think you need to rest." Sam looked at her, sweat clinging to her shirt and her hair in a messy bun. Out of breath and just about ready to call it a day, she nodded and followed her into the house. Esree handed her a glass of water and a sandwich before heading into the study. "I need to ask you something." She said placing the book in front of her by a very peculiar spell. "This is written in a very old language and..."

"It's a spell to summon a witch." Sam cut her off before taking a big bite from her sandwich. Esree sat down next to her and looked at her wide-eyed, but said nothing. Sam finished her food and drank all the water before heading into the kitchen. A few minutes later she came back with another sandwich and two cups of coffee.

"How did you.."

"Lex can read it." She interrupted her again. She waited patiently for Sam to finish her food then pushed the book in front of her.

"You think Lex can help me with this?" She asked hesitantly, but hopefully. Sam sat quietly, staring at the table. Then the change happened. Once again Lex took control and it took Esree a while to get used to it.

"It's a very old spell and most of the words are a bit harder to decipher, but not impossible. Is this the only spell in this language?" She asked staring intently at the book. Esree immediately shook her head and started paging through the book when Lex suddenly stopped her. "This spell, I know it." She said looking at a strange symbol sketched on the corner of the page. "It's a bonding spell, but not the typical ones used today. This one is old, really old, older than me. Before I was born a great wizard walked the spirit realm. He was known as Morpheus, or the one who changes. He could take the shape of any living or non-living creature to ever exist. He was more powerful than even the great oak, the one who created him. As he grew and realized his strength it was evident he became arrogant in his power. He challenged all creatures that walked the realm and those who did not. It was clear that the only way to save all worlds was to destroy him, which proved to be nearly impossible. His power was unmatched by any and he knew it. He tried to destroy the great oak, and he almost did, but he had a daughter. She was the first witch to ever be born and her power was almost equal to her father's, but she was very young and greed did not consume her pure soul. For many days she pleaded with her father to stop his destruction, but he was too far gone. She could not kill him but did the only thing she could think of. She bound him to her with this spell, it is an eternal spell, unbreakable in life or death, and in order to protect that which is good she changed herself into the mountain you call Mount Waialeale, and there they will remain till the end of time. An apprentice wrote down the spell and sent it to the great council who then gave it to your dear sorcerous, knowing he would not be able to translate it."

Esree stared dumbfounded at Lex, the creature who knew so much.

"What you're telling me is, this spell is much too powerful for any witch to control?" She asked looking back at the book filled with spells that cannot be read. Lex nodded and gave control back to Sam.

"I need to get going, or I'll be late for class," Sam said jumping up and running to her room. "I'm going out tonight, don't wait up." She called out before slamming the door behind her. Esree closed the book and stared out the window. 'if this book ever reaches the wrong hands, it will mean the destruction of all living kind.' She stood and took the book, placing a cloaking spell around it to make it look like some cookbook and placed it between her other cookbooks. She heard the front door slam shut and then nothing. She was left alone to ponder her next move.
