Guard Your Heart

Tunde stayed and chatted with Sophia's mother for a while, before she became tired and fell asleep.

"Thank you so much for stopping by" Sophia said to Tunde as she walked him back to his car.

"It's the least I could do"

"It's what is expected of you as a son in-law, I understand"

"Actually that is not the only reason...." Tunde paused, as his eyes came in contact with hers. Their eyes locked for a second, before he looked away.

"Would you mind coming with me to dinner?" He asked her.

"No, I don't think so I need to...."

"Just an hour and we will be back, we won't go far, I understand that you need to be close to your mother, but I'm sure your sister could keep an eye on her while we are away"

Sophia kept quiet for a while, biting on her lower lip, something Tunde has come to realize she does whenever she is deep in thought, or nervous. Weird but Tunde loves to watch her do it.

"An hour?" She asked.

"Not even a minute extra"

"All right give me a minute let me inform my sister"

Few minutes later Sophia came out holding her purse.

"Let's go"

Tunde helped to open the door for her to get in, before getting in himself.

"What would you like to eat?" He asked her, as they drove out of the compound.

"Anything, I'm really not feeling too hungry"

"How about we go get some suya? I know of a great suya spot not too far away from here"

"That will be fine"

Tunde drove them to the suya spot. True to his words, it wasn't so far from Sophia's home. Funny how she has been passing by that place and never for once did she take notice of the suya spot.

They placed their orders and sat in a corner of the suya spot, while they waited for their order to get ready.

"I can't believe you have never been here, it's not so far from your place" Tunde said.

"Well..I haven't really taken note of this place, and besides I rarely go out, I'm more of an indoor person"

"Yeah, so I have noticed, you seem to enjoy your own company, compared to being with people"

"Yeah something like that, How come you know about this place anyway? It's not like you live close by"

"A friend of mine, Dayo doesn't live too far away from here, so whenever I come over to visit him, this is usually one of our hangout spots"

"Oh I see" now that he mentioned his friend, it dawned on Sophia that she has never met sny of his friends.

"What type of drink would you like with your suya?" Tunde asked.

"Anything soft would be fine"

"All right let me get us some drinks" As Tunde stood up to get the drinks, Sophia's eyes followed him, taking note of his long legs as he leisurely strode away.

'be careful Sophie, you can't like this guy, this is a contract, he is nothing but a client, so see him as one, mixing business with pleasure is not a good thing, so stay away from him'

Some minutes later, Tunde came back carrying their drinks and suya.

"Do you think we can take it home?" Sophia stood up, before he could get the chance to sit down.

"What is the matter, are you okay?" Tunde asked concerned.

"I'm okay, I just feel like going back home to my mother"

She actually wanted to be away from him, because she didn't like the effect he is beginning to have on her

"All right, let me take you back then" Tunde carried the items he just dropped on the table and they started walking to the car park.

When they got to his car, he couldn't bring out his key from his pocket because of the items in his hands.

"Please do you mind, helping to get my car keys from my left pocket?"

"Oh okay" Sophia put her hand in his left pocket and got out the key, but not without having to feel his thighs because she was finding it difficult in locating the key.

She opened the car, and he placed the things inside, before driving her back to her home.

"I'm sorry I'm asking you to bring me home earlier than we had agreed upon, it's just that...."

"It's okay, I understand, you don't have to explain"

"Thank you so much"

"All right, I will see you tomorrow then" he handed the suya and drinks to her, then got into his car and drove away.
