Chapter Eleven: The Final Day

I let Jinny go and fell on my back, exhausted, letting go of that form as well. "I should come up with a name for that form..." I thought to myself.

I looked at Jinny, who let go of her form as well, and she smirked back at me. "You actually managed to 'beat' me." She said with air quotes.

I chuckled. "Bring down your ego any?"

"You wish." She chuckled.

I smiled and closed my eyes. "You wouldn't be you if it did. Don't change Jinny." I opened my eyes and looked at her again, finding her staring back at me.

She stared at me for a second before speaking again. "I could say the same about you Sanda. I know you're hiding some demons as well."

I averted my eyes quickly and laughed. "What are you talking about? The only demon I have is my eternal loneliness."

"You're not alone though." I glanced at her as she spoke. "You have all of us now you dork." She reached over and ruffled my hair. "And now that your training is complete, if you survive tomorrow, you can finally start hanging with all of us." She grinned.

I stared at her for a moment, at a loss for words. I was starting to lose my composure somewhat. I had never had real friends before. Jinny leaned over and hugged me suddenly. My eyes widened and my face turned red. "W-What're you-"

She gently ran her fingers through my hair. "You looked like you needed a hug too." She muttered. I recalled when Jinny told me her story and I had hugged her. I hesitated, but slowly returned her embrace, resting my head on her shoulder. She was so warm. "You don't have to tell me anything you don't want to Sanda, but I'm here to listen like you were there for me."

I smiled softly. "I know, thank you. I'm not really...ready yet to be honest..." It's not as if I had lied about my story to the others. I really was rejected left and right, and I really didn't have very many friends that I could actually call a friend, but that's not all there was to it either.

"I understand, but I better be the first person you tell..." She muttered. "Don't make me regret telling you my story when no one else knows."

I chuckled. "I'll be sure you're the first one I tell, if I tell, and I won't tell anyone your story."

I could tell she was smiling from the sound of her voice. "Good."

She pulled away from me and I ruffled my hair. "I'm really not lying when I say I'm not good with girls. You're the only woman I've ever hugged who wasn't my mom." I laughed nervously.

"Well, you can have as many hugs as you want from me, whenever you need one. I'm sure some of the others wouldn't mind either. Maybe you can make one of them your first girlfriend." She wiggled her eyebrows and nudged me with her elbow.

I blushed at the thought. I thought any of the girls there would make great girlfriends, but I highly doubted I had a chance with any of them. "Don't tease me." I ruffled her hair.

"Are we really gonna do this again? Remember last time?" She snickered.

"It wasn't all bad. I wouldn't mind if it happened again." I chuckled, which made Jinny's cheeks turn a faint red. I smiled at the thought of how I could make her blush so easily. She was so cute.

"Go away." She lightly pushed my face away from hers and turned away.

"Pouting?" I fell back on my back.

"Hypocrite, telling me not to tease you and then teasing me."

"But I wasn't teasing." I muttered. "I really wouldn't mind..." I stopped speaking and averted my eyes, feeling my face heat up, thinking to myself, "I can't believe I just said that out loud..." Jinny didn't say anything, but when I looked at her again, her head was turned away and I noticed her ears and neck were red. "Is she flustered..?" I snickered quietly at the thought.

"You better not be laughing at me." She huffed.

"N-No, never." I replied quickly, sitting up again. "Should we go inside now?"

"You go ahead, I'm gonna stay out here a bit longer." She looked forward and her blue eyes shimmered from the light of the sunset as she stared at the sky, an expression of peace on her face. "Can't believe we trained all day and missed lunch." She chuckled softly, smiling.

I stared at her for a couple seconds too long before turning away. "A-Alright. See you at lunch." I walked off quickly before she could respond, my heart thumping rapidly in my chest. "She just said we missed lunch you dork! Geez, what is wrong with me..? If the other girls are impossible then Jinny is super mega impossible!" I internally scolded myself and smacked my cheeks a few times, letting out a sigh as I walked inside.

"You two seem close." I jumped as I heard a voice behind me and looked to see Hanako standing by the door, giggling at my reaction. "Don't worry, I don't bite."

I laughed nervously again, sweat dripping down my forehead. "She was watching?!" I thought to myself.

"Don't worry, I won't say anything to the others."

"I-It's nothing like that."

Hanako smiled softly. "Sure sure... Not yet anyway. I'm never wrong about these things. I'm sure you two will make a great couple!" She clapped her hands together as smiled brightly. I blushed rather brightly at the thought, my whole face turning red. "Seems as if you wouldn't mind if my prediction were to come true." She giggled suggestively.

"I-I don't- I-I just- Bah!" I turned and walked off, grumbling as I heard Hanako continue to laugh at me. I never could've imagined Jinny and I together honestly. She looked like she could be a model and I was just a loser with no friends or experience. Thinking about it though made me a bit wishful. Hugging, cuddling, and kissing all the time, sleeping in the same bed, flirting and teasing, play fighting, and just being happy and in love. I sighed at the thought, knowing it could probably never be.

"Sandaaaaaaa!" I heard someone yell, turning to see who it was.

"Oof!" I grunted as that someone tackled into me. Could only be one person. I looked back to see Kazane sitting on my back, exactly who I thought it was.

"You're finally done training right? Let's go play video games! All these guys are scrubs!" She grinned.

I laughed nervously and coughed. "Get off me first and I'll get to kicking your butt in whatever we play after."

"Oh you are on!" She hopped off and started running. "Race ya!"

"No fair!" I jumped up and chased after her. After we made it to the game room we started playing video games. We went back and forth through the several games, me dominating her in some, others not so much. She was a lot better than I thought she would be.

"Do you play with anyone else?" I asked her between playing and eating snacks.

"Yeah! I always play with Agni. He's surprisingly good at some of these, like wow!"

"That so?" I could kind of imagine Agni playing video games. He wasn't much older than me and seemed like the type. We ended up eating dinner while playing video games. After I finished eating, I stood up, setting my controller aside. "Alrighty, I think I'm gonna go do something else."

"If you say so." Kazane said as she continued gaming. I walked out of the room, exploring the mansion once more on my own. Throughout the rest of the night, I spent time with each of the Elementia individually for a little bit of time each since it was late.

Just before I was going to go to sleep, I decided to hang out and talk with Akari. Akari was a lot like me apparently. She wasn't all that close with her family and didn't have many close friends either when she was a normal human, though it still hurt her to have everyone killed by her own awakening. "Are we just gonna sit and wait for them to attack tomorrow..?" I ask her as the day of battle came to mind.

"Of course not. We'll be ready. We have to be prepared for anything however. He could attack at anytime. Who knows when it will be..." Akari frowned.

I looked at her and she looked back at me slightly as she noticed. I gave her the best confident look I could master. "I won't let you or any of the others down tomorrow, I promise."

She smiled. "I know you won't. Now go on and get some rest."

I nodded and headed off to my room, feeling an ominous feeling in my gut, but also feeling determined. I thought to myself, "I won't hold them back..." I laid in my bed, staring at the ceiling. I wanted to sleep, but I was just so anxious.

It was late, about 11:50 PM. I kept thinking about the Plasma Elementia and ways I was going to fight him. Even though I know I would need to sleep so I had the energy to fight him, I just couldn't. Several minutes passed, and suddenly, darkness encased the mansion. My eyes widened and I jumped up, looking outside my window to see pure black. "Shit... Of course he'd attack right now..." I looked at the electric clock on my bedside drawer. The time was midnight.
