Chapter 7

Charles's POV

I stand all by myself watching everyone pass by, giving off different kind of scent, some mixed with sweat. The sweaty scent filled my nose the more, making my nose twitch. But that wasn't why I was here, that wasn't why I abandoned the quad to be here.

Since the end of Geography class, I've been dying to see her again, "Esther what was her last name again?". He thought to himself. Ever since he'd laid eyes on that girl, his wolf had been so excited, yipping and purring to claim its mate.

But there's one problem... The girl is not a supernatural, and that will be an hindrance of some sort, cos, it's hard for the humans to contain themselves when they hear of supernatural, always fearing their lives are at stake because of the supernatural creature natural instinct. Or because they feared they could be killed by us. Supernatural movies made sure of that, by portraying us as types of cannibals. One way or the other she's going to find out, from me or others. I'd like it to be from me first.

I just keep searching, using the scent my brain had earlier registered in class. We Lycans or wolves as the case might be have the tendency of storing particular scent of people, and this one being my mate... It sure is sticking there. I checked my watch and it was already 2:15pm. I was about to turn around and search elsewhere when the smell of fresh cinnamon filled right into my nose, this reaction caused me to whip my head around to the direction the scent was coming from.

There she was walking towards my direction, scratch that, more of like she was gliding towards my direction in slow motion, together with the other two girls from earlier. There I also was, trying everything I know of to control myself from claiming her right now and there. I've waited so long for this to happen, and for real it is.

They stopped by some lockers, opened it and took out some books. "Now is a better chance Charles". My wolf said. A moment of composure and I saw one of the girls look at me, whisper something to her and they all giggled. But I noticed she has a little flush on her cheeks. "How embarrassing do I look now". I asked myself.

"More embarrassing than you could think of". A voice said in my head, rendering me off balance. I whipped my head around trying to get where the voice came from until my eyes settled on no other person but Jake.

"Wait... Jake!, He could read minds and talk through minds!". I exclaimed in my mind. "No Lycan could ever do that Not even the Alpha". He heard that also, feeding me back with a puzzled look on his face. "So... I'm a freak even in the supernatural realm?". Not sure whether to answer him back, I slowly nodded. And he just walked off, rage visible on his face.

"A thought for later I told myself". Turned around to continue my assessment and... She was gone!. How long have I taken my eyes off her. I'm having Jake's hide for this. I just turned around and rejoined the quad which were waiting for me with every cynical comments they could mutter.

"Moon goddess... Why do you keep making everything hard for me?".

Esther's POV

My new school isn't so bad as I thought after all, maybe because I've got my old friends with me here, but frankly speaking, the school's awesome. I found myself enjoying the attention most students give me. Like one time a guy walked up to introduced himself as Jerry Malfoy and offered to show her around.

After Math class, I, Princess and Eddie decided to go pick something up from our lockers walking down the hall like it was a familiar one. I had no intention of speaking to anyone, maybe they all noticed the look on my face, no one neared me. We finally reached the locker, no one haven muttered anything since after class.

Princess turned to me smiling and whispers. "Esther, check out that guy ogling you over there". Without turning in the direction of the guy she was talking about. But the guy wasn't hard to find, as he stood there transfixed, just staring at me, "Do you think he's okay?". I asked.

"No, I don't think he's okay, I think he's fallen in love". Eddie said giggling. Princess took another glance at him and joined her giggling. All this reactions only made me blush, but I tried to giggle a lil bit.

Stealing a glance at him myself, he looks handsome, well built and tall, but there's something about him that doesn't feels right, his look is too unnatural to be natural. Strikingly handsome and well built. He looks more like a god. This thought only made me smile the more. "Maybe he's the god of love".

And then he turned to look elsewhere, having a puzzled look plastered on his face, I followed the direction of his face and saw he was looking at an equally handsome guy. "Do they always breed handsome dude in this part of the country?". My mind reeled on. The other guy turned and looked at me for a brief second before turning his attention back to my admirer.

I noticed his face changing expression, the kind you do when you're in a dialogue with someone, but his lips weren't moving, neither was the other guy's. Something weird. I turned around signalled to my friends and left the hall, stealing a glance back at my admirer if he'd turn his head back to my direction.

He never did.

.......

"I seriously am not a fan of walking in front of the classroom to introduce myself Micheal, it's so embarrassing". Emmanuel said rather grumpily. "I had to stare down throughout class for fear that I might do something awkward".

"I guess I wasn't the only one after all". Micheal said a little collected than Emmanuel. "We got quite a stare and I doubt if we didn't create quite a scene too."

"Erm..." Emmanuel tried to say wait to think a bit then continued. "I saw some cliques back there in the classroom, you know like Eddie, Esther and Princess would think they were cliques back at our former school, only these were serious looking one and pretty if I'm to add". He added, his lips curving into a smirk.

"I think someone's forgotten about his embarrassment and is ogling girls now". Michael teased.

"What!, Did the rule say anything about noticing girls". Emmanuel answered back.

"I've got to approach one of them". Emmanuel said rubbing his chin as if in deep thinking. "But I know they'll be a harder nut to crack".

"I kinda noticed them too, and they're some pretty bunch, but I'll advise you settle in some bit first before doing anything stupid". Michael tried to warn.

"Okay bro, I'll stay in my place for now, but I have one worry". Emmanuel said scrunching up his face.

"What's that bro, spit it out". A worried Michael asked.

"Blending in, that's my worry... Are you sure we can blend in?".

"Don't worry yourself to death bro, time will tell about that one, don't be a dick head". Michael said watching a group of girls passing and smiling.

"Time will tell". He added smirking like hell.

"Haaaa, I see your hook is plunging around some schools of fish". A once worried Emmanuel joked.

"Come on bro, we have one last class to attend before school finally closes". Emmanuel said placing his arm on Michael's shoulder.

"And let's start unravelling what it is that time has for us". Michael added and the two of them walked down the hall to their next class. Attracting stares and whispers from some of the students. This two jolly friends never cared or turned. They walked on humming some tune to themselves.
