While they were eating their own respective lunches, Xavier began to interview Ersel again.
“So, Ersel, you’re Van’s classmate, right?” Xavier inquired while showing his usual friendly smile.
“Yes, I am,” Ersel replied while showing his usual innocent smile.
“So you are the one whom Van was referring to earlier,” Xavier declared in a gentle and jolly manner.
“Me?!” Ersel asked in a puzzled and amazed tone.
Xavier grinned from ear to ear and replied, “Yes. I told him that we wanted to meet you this morning, but he said that you and he were both busy, so he said that we should do it next time.”
“Oh, I see,” Ersel replied in an awkward yet flattered manner. “G-Glad to know that from you, Xavier. Thank you!”
“No problem, man,” Xavier answered in a jolly way. “By the way, there’s no need for you to feel awkward, you know. Just feel free to be one of us, okay?”
“O-Okay,” Ersel answered as he tried to make himself feel as comfortable as possible.
