Chapter 3

Phoenix's POV

"Mate"

My wolf jumped for joy inside me after two long years of trying to look for my mate all over she was here and she was so beautiful and young she didn't look a day older than 18. I just kept my hand on her arm and stared at her I couldn't even form words I was dazed and confused and I didn't understand why she had red hair and silver eyes but I don't think I really cared, she was gorgeous and she was all mine.

"Hello" She said and her tongue dipped out to lick her lip, it was all I could do to stop myself from taking her there and kissing her but she looked scared and i couldn't have that. So I did the next best thing I got my brain functioning and said "Hi, I'm Phoenix" she tilted her head and looked up at my lips I was a good 4 inches taller than her.

"I'm Ava" she simply stated, she didn't say anything else and she still looked scared and then she started to tremble slightly, that's when I realised that she was cold so I quickly started to pull her towards the bank, taking in her naked body, her full chest and a quick look down I noticed she was hairless just like me.

"Lets get dressed, then we can talk Ava, does that sound alright with you?" Ava just nodded at me and quickly let her arm fall as she went to the tree and got her clothes out of a backpack, it looked like she was just passing through. Maybe just maybe I could convince her to stay with me.

Ava's POV

Oh My Goddess Phoenix was stunning, even more beautiful then when I had first seen her in the waterfall and the phoenix tattoo on her left ribs was stunning and she had her belly button pierced too, she smelled wonderful too like mums pancakes with syrup. Then she touched me and that's when I knew she was my mate and I didn't know whether to be shocked or happy, I mean I just found my mate for my wolf side but it was a she, but she was stunning hopefully my parents wouldn't be too upset. Thinking of my parents made my heart ache but I couldn't let Phoenix see that on my face so I turned around and started to get dressed, there was a lot to talk about and since I was close to town maybe we could get a drink and talk some more.

"How about we head into town and get something to eat? I'm starving and you look hungry too" Phoenix looked at me as she spoke, I didn't have any words for her so I just nodded my head. Even though we had both just been naked, now that we were clothed I felt uncomfortable, especially now we were heading into town and I couldn't mask my scent anymore or else Phoenix would notice and then start asking the hard questions. The look in her golden eyes told me everything though that she was pure wolf. Maybe she could be trusted but not right now, I felt my wolf whimper at me for not trusting my mate but it was a big secret and I had to know I was safe before telling anyone who I really was.

As we walked through the forest Phoenix grabbed my hand and I felt sparks shooting up my arm, a definite sign that she was my mate, being a tribrid I had to touch her to know that she was my mate unlike others that could smell it out as well.

"So" Phoenix started talking "tell me a little about yourself? where are you from? how long are you going to be here? where about are you heading?" I didn't want to start with big questions, I couldn't give her much so I just went through the motions of what I had practised.

"I was just passing through, I wasn't going to stay long I was simply looking for my mate, my goal is to go into neural territory and live there I hope, making friends along the way. But now that I've met my mate I don't know what I'll do." There that was the best answer I could give her without saying too much I needed to get through to the other kingdoms though and try to find my other mates for my witch and vampire side, speaking of which I needed to find somewhere where I could suck down the blood bag I had carried with me it was about time for my feeding.

"So tell me why your hair is red and why you have silver eyes I have never seen that before on a wolf?" I tensed for a second and then came up with a good excuse or I hoped it was "I'm a Hybrid, werewolf and vampire guess I broke the mould a little when they made me" I hoped that would be enough for her I couldn't tell her any extra, it would be far to dangerous and she might run from me if she knew and then that would cause more problems.

"Oh" She said nodding, "I guess that's fair enough, Now do you drink blood from a human or a blood bag? How do you do it and how often? and does that mean that you get two mates being a hybrid?" I just stopped on the edge of the forest and looked at her before looking out over the town it was beautiful and it had only taken about 30 minutes to walk here. "I drink from blood bags once a day, I'm due to drink one soon since its getting late in the afternoon and I don't know about getting two mates, my dad only ever found one but after he found my mum he stopped looking for any other. I also have a blood bag on me if there is somewhere private where I can drink it that would be great but I am hungry for food and something else as well" I smirked at her and watched as her eyes dropped to my lips.
