Walking up to the large white building I felt nervous but full of excitement and possibility. When I come into the building I stop at the receptionist desk a kind looking lady dressed in a blue pants suit with a pink shirt, hair up in a perfect bun. "Hello, My name is L/N Y/N, I'm here for an interview today with a Mr. Kirishima for a PR position." She smiles nodding pulling out a book from her desk. "Yes Miss L/N looks like your interview is in twenty minutes." She busies herself on her computer with something. "You'll need to head up to the fourth floor using the elevators just there, take a right when you get off and go to the end of the corridor and have a seat in the reception area Mr. Kirishima will call for you when he's ready. Here's your pass." She hands me a sticker with my name, reason for my visit, and destination written on it. "Thank you very much, you've been extremely helpful, have a wonderful day." She gives me a sympathetic smile, "You're a sweet girl, you may want to reconsider this posting. Hate for you to die inside working for that little monster." She whispers it to me not wanting others to overhear, stunned I just bow thanking her again heading for the elevator.
When I sit someone walks out of an office not far from me "no not in a million years, you've lost your mind." they scream out in frustration to themselves. They walk down the corridor I just came down heading towards the elevator. A tall red haired man walks out wearing a dark grey suit, he looks familiar but I can't place it. He walks over to a man who was sitting in the reception area before I arrived, I don't hear them speak to one another, but they walk off in into the office together, I guess he's Mr. Kirishima and the others are my competition for the job. I sit waiting my turn another girl joining me. The man who went in before me comes out his face is hard, he stomps off not saying a single word. The same man from before approaches me "Miss L/N?" I look at him and realize how cute and kind his face is giving a smile "Yes sir, that's me." He returns my smile with enthusiasm. "I'm Red Riot, I'll be conducting your qualifying interview today to determine if you'll meet with Jeanist or not." I stand giving a bow as he speaks to me. "It is an honor to meet you sir, I look forward to the opportunity to impress you thank you for seeing me today." I stand to face him again following him into the office where he offers me a seat, trying not to geek out at just meeting one of my favorite up and coming heroes.
"So Miss L/N I see from your resume you've just graduated with honors from Stanford and have no real prior experience, did you complete any internships in your time at school?"
"Yes sir, I interned with Electroplant for three months." He gives a thoughtful nod
"Why do you want to move to Japan when you could likely get a job at any hero agency in America?"
"I wish to make my own path in life, I feel removing myself from my comfort zone would be beneficial. I chose Japan because I really admire many of the heroes here and love everything I've learned about the culture compared to that of America."
"Tell me have you ever had to win over anyone or even an animal who was stubborn and difficult at first?" Odd question
"When I was 10 I found a stray kitten, it took me about two months to get him to let me pet him, then 6 more weeks to get him into the house. Cat Might is an old lazy fat house cat now." He chuckles at the name
"When you were 10, that was at least 10 years ago maybe 12. Anything a little more recent?"
"Not that took that long no sir, I have done a lot of babysitting and dealt with many different types of children. I suppose the most stubborn was a young boy of about 7 I watched when I was 17. His parents just divorced and he lived with his father, he hated me at first, said he was too old for a babysitter. A month later we become good friends, He's in middle school now and tells his friends I'm his sister."
"And how did you go about achieving this change?"
"Patience and understanding mostly. Most people aren't stubborn or difficult just to be so, there's a reason you just need to be patient enough to find out what it is and have compassion and empathy to know how to deal with the situation once you do." He smiles at me a moment before taking a breath to continue.
"Have you ever heard of the hero DynaMight?"
"I can't say as that I have sir."
"He's a younger hero, an old classmate of mine, for the most part he's been kept out of the media what has been shown of him I don't think has reached America. He's uh well difficult, stubborn, abrasive at times. He's a cool guy, real manly, but a lot of people aren't willing to give him the time to see all that." I nod understanding the high pay for an entry level person and why the receptionist warned me away as well as the others who left before me looking upset. Still not sure why they wanted a fresh graduate though instead of a veteran in the field.
"Mr. Riot, I'd be forever grateful for an opportunity to work with DynaMight. It would be a great honor to assist him with his image in the media." He smiles at me arms crossed leaning against the desk, how can someone so strong be so damn soft too?
"I was hoping you'd say that, what do you say to joining me on the seventh floor to meet Jeanist?"
My heart races as I smile happily at him. "It would be a great honor sir, thank you."
