7.) First Day Part 2

Everyone clears out of the room as I continue to try to snap back to reality. I can't let myself get distracted by his good looks. He's the client, this is about work. Besides if what everyone says is true this man and are extremely unlikely to ever get along anyway. "So you're L/N" I realize he's standing directly in front of me arms still crossed looking down on me, his gaze a mix of disgust and amusement. "Yes sir, it's a pleasure to meet you." I bow to him and hear him suck his teeth. "I'm not like Jeanist stand up dammit, you need to be looking ahead at all times if you're going to be working with me." I stand quickly looking up at him, His eyes are an unfamiliar shade of red, they are beautiful and I have to remind myself again not to get caught up with staring at him. He looks me over allowing his eyes to rest on the lanyard I was given downstairs before he rips it from my neck moving over to his desk opening a drawer. He removes the badge and places it onto a dark green one before handing it back to me not saying a word. "Thank you sir, I'll return it to you when I get some new ones." He looks at me like I said something stupid. "Why the hell would you do that? You Americans always give back something when someone gives it to you? Fucking rude." My face heats with Embarrassment. "I'm sorry sir, I misunderstood, you didn't specify so I assumed it as a loaner." He stares at me again face blank. "Don't call me sir, I'm not old. My real name is Katsuki Bakugo. You can call me by my last name unless we are in public and just say ok or something not sir." Why is my heart racing for him to tell me his name, snap out of it damn. "Ok Bakugo I can handle that." He smiles before sitting on his desk.

"So now what L/N?" His face has genuine curiosity across it. "Well, the best thing we can do starting out is for me to learn as much about you as I can, not just about you as a hero. You'd be surprised the things I can surmise just from learning how you like your tea, your favorite food, things like that. As we go along we can discuss what you want to accomplish in your career and steps we can try to take to make that happen. In a week maybe two I should be able to smoothly navigate you through a pre-planned print interview. It may be awhile before I have you on camera, and depending on how things go I may have you avoid live interviews as much as possible, though for now I'm basing this information on what I was told by Best Jeanist and the fact that my own internet research suggest you're not in love with being on the end of a camera lens." His stare has grown cold "If you think I don't want to be on camera why consider it in the first place?" I give him a pleasant smile keeping my tone the same "Well Bakugo, I figure you want to be highly ranked otherwise you wouldn't be planning to open your own agency in six month time. Popularity is taken into consideration for the hero charts, if you're not doing interviews many people will never know your face or the name DynaMight, which is a shame, since you took the time to pay homage to All Might." His face softens at the mention of the hero a small smile creeping across his face, Dammit he's breathtaking.

When there's a knock at the door he returns to angry mode like a switch was flipped. "What now?" The door pops open and Uravity walks in. "Hey don't mind me I'm just going to have a seat over in the corner." Bakugo rolls his eyes at her re-crossing his arms. "Shouldn't you go and visit Deku instead of wasting your day here?" He spits the name at her, I get the feeling there's some tension with he and the green haired hero. "Kacchan you ha-" "Don't you call me that dumbass." he cuts her off angrily. She takes in a deep breath turning to him anger flashing behind her big pretty brown eyes. "What the hell is your deal anyway? I've liked Deku since first year at UA, everyone knows that, is it really that big a deal that I turned you down?" I wish I could disappear, I really don't want to be here for this. "It's not that you turned me down Uraraka, you made me look like a damn idiot. I knew you liked Deku sure, but you were hanging around here so much and the way you looked at me I thought you were over it. You two had been dating for months before I asked you out and neither of you let me in on that little fact. My so called best friend since fucking grade school and I'm asking out his girl like some asshole." She sighs. "I thought we could put all this behind us now that you and Deku are talking again." She looks a little sad, what does him and Deku have to do with him and her? "You thought wrong, go home, go see your boyfriend, do something else besides hang around here." When she leaves he sucks in a deep breath "I'm not some whiney little girlfriend stealer and I wasn't being mean to her so don't fucking start." I look around realizing were alone again and he's addressing me. "Those things never crossed my mind, so don't worry about it." He looks at me surprised before taking a seat in his chair.

A knock hits the door at the same time Red Riot's voice rings in "Hey, you guys want to eat lunch together?" Bakugo looks at the clock "Hungry?" I nod and start to wish I had brought something with me rather than assuming I'd skip lunch today. He stands reaching his hand down in front of me "Come on, you may as well talk with Kirishima too, we've been friends a long time." I nod putting my hand in his, it's unnaturally warm, his palm much bigger than mine and his long fingers wrap around my hand like a child's. I catch the scent of something sweet as I stand. He opens the door and Red Riots face lights up. "You two go get food, I need a fucking break all she does is ask a million damn questions." My heart sinks and I realize I was looking forward to having lunch with him despite spending the last three hours with him in his office. "She says she needs to know about me, you can help with that right? Take a long lunch, I'll be in the gym." He pushes me at my lower back toward Red Riot and closes the door behind me. "Should have seen this coming, well then how about curry? It'll be my treat, you deserve something for not quitting two hours ago." He chuckles to make it a joke but I get the feeling he's a little serious. "Curry would be lovely, you don't have to pay though, it's fine." He starts walking towards the elevator with me at his side. "No I insist, please let me show you a little hospitality." I nod and thank him, knowing better than to push the issue. We walk out of the building and three blocks to a little place you might miss if you weren't looking for it. "Fat Gum showed me to this place, when I showed DynaMight he fell in love with their extra spicy chicken curry." His smile is large and happy, I can see why he and Bakugo are friends, Red Riot gives off a caring and determined vibe, most likely he's the one who initiated their time together.

I sit and listen to him tell me stories about High School, how he first came to know Bakugo and how they bonded over several incidents. It's how I learned he'd actually been kidnapped by the league of Villains his first year during summer training camp. As an afterthought of that story he also tells me that he was actually saved by All Might for the second time during that incident, apparently he'd been attacked by a sledge villain when he was still in middle school. They've been through so much, just as I'm starting to wonder how all these events affected him he tells me how they didn't know for months that he blamed himself for All Might losing his powers and just suffered alone in silence. It seems he's talked about being number one since they've know one another, if he really wants that number one spot we're going to have a lot of work to do. From the sounds of his reactions to sports festivals in the past and rivalry challenges with Deku he won't be satisfied if he doesn't put in the work himself so I'll need to be especially careful to take the time to coach him in raising that popularity of his, how to speak with the public and his fans. The place he chose was really very good. I knew I wouldn't be able to handle extra spicy curry, so I ordered medium, then quickly ordered and paid for an extra spicy to go while Red Riot was in the bathroom. As we left he looked at the takeout box in my hand with smile. "You're very thoughtful Y/N. I should warn you he's in rare form today, I'm sure Jeanist was all over him about how to be nice to you and so on, he hasn't even yelled at you which has to be a record. He will probably be mad that you bought him food." I look down at the food in my hands, if he gets upset good, I need to meet the real him.
