Mercenary branch

"The first thing I should do was check out my arrival at the guild, that would make things a lot easier for me and maybe I can get some relevant information there." He thought aloud.

On the way he passed the town market and found some things that could not be seen in a small town like Opus, slaves were being sold inside cages held by a magic collar that prevented them from reacting.

The Empire allowed slavery within its lands as long as the enslaved were lawbreakers, but the black market brought the most different types of races to be sold and to sign a soul contract with its buyer. After this is done only the death of one side could break the contract in most cases.

Several different breeds were being sold, humans of the most diverse types, dwarfs, beautiful halflings with multicolored eyes and girls with cat ears dressed in maids' uniforms and were lined up next to each other as products. Nicola had a strange feeling of guilt and empathy for them, but the thought was soon put in a corner of his head when he remembered that most of them were criminals and outlaws.

He tried not to think about it too much as he finished crossing the lively market looking around like a hick in the big city for the first time.

Upon arriving at the guild headquarters he entered and registered. The place was much better decorated than the previous one, the floor made of polished dark wood while the walls and ceiling were painted in a cream color that brought softness to the environment.

Being a mercenary guild it would not have much useless decoration, but some pillars carried high relief engravings of magical monsters and powerful weapons. The layout of the place was the same, the tables, the counter and even the mission wall were in the same place.

Nico approached the counter and take a look, the missions here were different from the ones he found in Opus, because he was closer to the center of the country, there weren't many magical forests near a big city, so hunting monsters didn't appear much here those that existed requested that they go to distant places from there, they would be rewarded with triple points more than normal, but it would take longer to complete.

The main focus of the missions was to ensure the protection of caravans and to become guards for some families for a while.
