Not What I Expected

Laurel's POV

"Hi Laurel."

The handsome dude said to me as he briefly looked up from his phone, and then went back to typing on it. I looked at my mom and she had an 'I told you so' look on her face.

But I doubted if his attitude towards me had anything to do with my dressing, because I know how many heads I had turning with this dress at the office earlier today, and even at the supermarket, so it can't be my dressing, this guy just have a problem and it's not me.

From the corner of my eye I could see his mom nudging him to put down his phone.

"Okay the table is set, let's all go have dinner." My mom announced.

As we all headed towards the dinning, my mom came to my side and whispered.

"Why didn't you put the dress I have you?"

"It was too flashy." I whispered back.

"Hmmm, okay o." Was all she said before going to take her seat.
