Way Harder Than Expected

The next morning when I woke up, Miriam was in the kitchen preparing breakfast.

"Good morning." I greeted her as I grabbed a bottle of water from my fridge.

"Good morning Lou how was your night, hope you slept well?" She asked in a rather cheerful tone.

"My night was a restive one, I couldn't find sleep and I kept tossing all through the night." I leaned against the kitchen counter and drank my water.

"Why is that? Were you thinking about something?" Miriam had a concerned look on her face as she looked at me.

"Not really, I don't even why I couldn't sleep."

That's a lie, I know why, it's because I kept thinking about what could have happened between I and Aminu last night, if Miriam hadn't interrupted us.

"Mmmm that smells nice, what are you making?" I asked her as she opened the pot and added seasoning to her cooking.

"I found some potatoes lying in your kitchen, and decided to make a potato porridge with them."
