You and The Pet got comfortable way quicker than any of the 'bots had expected. You had made many friends with the 'bots that was around, especially with those who went to the bar regularly.
Though none of them really liked The Pet. Or Ambs as you now called him. You felt bar for calling him The Pet after Swerve had asked you he didn't have a real name. You had told him that the DJD had given him the name.
Swerve then came with the idea to give Ambs a new name. And you decided to call him Ambs as a shortened version of his old name, the one before he became The Pet.
Right at this moment you were walking down one of the many hallways, Ambs by your side. You were currently on your way to Swerves bar. You had originally asked Drift to accompany you so it wouldn't be that long of a walk but he told you that he had stuff to do.
You had shrugged it off and walked your way to the bar. Once you were there you stretched your legs a bit, sore thanks to your still human muscles. You almost got inside but that was before Fortress Maximus burst out of the doors.
What you saw next made your eyes widen in horror. Max was shooting one of the other bots. You weren't sure of his name but that didn't stop you from running after Max.
You watched as he continued to shoot three other cybertronians. When he had shot the last 'bot you saw that you, him, and Ambs were in Rungs sector. You hurried and made a beeline to Rungs office, hurrying inside.
"Rung! You have to get out of here!" Rung stood up quickly, but he didn't get to do much else before Max was towering over all three people in the room.
::: The Security Office :::
Rodimus sneered as he looked at the footage Blaster had just gotten from the camera. You were sitting in Rungs arms as he was bound to the chair with bent metal rods, and Whirl in the middle of the room, skewered with a sharp looking rod.
"This is not good. It would be so much easier if Y/N weren't in that room. I just hope she doesn't get hurt." Drift sighed and looked at the footage as well. "There's not much we can do other than hope."
Rodimus looked at the ground in guilt before taking a deep breath. "Please, Max, stop this." Rodimus widened his optics as he looked up at the monitor. "You got audio."
He congratulated Blaster, not listening to what he was saying, instead he was more interested in what was going on, on the monitor. "Come on Max, why don't you just do the right thing and kill yourself?"
Max looked down at Whirl with an angry expression as he began accusing Whirl of trying to make him let his guard down. "I think you might give him too much credit." Whirl began blabbering again but he apparently got on Max's nerves as Max decided to slam the tip of his gun into Whirls face.
"No!" You began struggling against Rungs grip, unfortunately he was stronger than you were even if he was a twink. "Please stop this. You don't have to fight us." You began to plead with Max.
"Shut up." Max pointed his gun at your face, getting really close. You didn't say anything else but you didn't falter either. Max moved his gun away after a while, going back to talking with Rung and Whirl.
They began talking about how long it had taken the wreckers to save Garrus 9, Max even called Rodimus, telling him to turn the ship back to Cybertron. Though everyone in the room knew instantly that there was no way the prime was gonna to what was told.
"What is that in your hand?" Rung looked at Max with a curious look though you could see a bit of fear as well. "What do you mean? It's only Y/N." Max scoffed before walking closer. "I can see that you're holding something in you hand."
He grabbed Rungs right hand and pulled it forward, showing the microphone he had in his thumb. "You've been recording this, haven't you? Perhaps even broadcasting it." Max sneered and grabbed the thumb firmly with his free servo.
"I wonder what's gonna happen if I pull." Rung began to panic, trying to pull his servo to himself. "No, stop that!" You stepped forward, now free thanks to Rungs panic. You pushed weakly at Max.
"Stop, leave him alone!" Max scoffed and flicked you to the side, hitting with a lot more strength than what was probably intended. You fell off the chair and landed on your arm, hearing something crack. But you kept your face cold and angry.
But it morphed into horror when you heard Rung scream in agony. You sat up slowly pulling your arm close to your chest. Whirl began spattering again, being even more angry at Max, but he eventually calmed down, knowing that he in all honesty couldn't do anything.
"I now ask for your attention as the hostage situation enters its third hour and you're hereby reminded to go about your business as always." You looked up at the comm system with tired eyes. Third hour? This had taken a lot longer than what you had expected.
"Alright, you win. Three hours and I am so bored. Please just see this to the end and kill us two." He pointed at Rung and himself leaving you out of the equation. "Whirl what is wrong with you?! "
Whirl looked at Rung with an unimpressed look. "That's your job to tell me, isn't it?" Max looked down at Whirl asking him why he was with them. "Ha! Like I am gonna open up for you." Max growled and pointed his gun at Rung.
"You tell me then." Rung shook his head. "I can't. It's confidential and I have a duty of care towards my patients." Max began threatening Rung which made Whirl open up after all.
While all of this was going down none of them had noticed you sneaking away, liping slightly, thanks to a sprained ankle. You slowly made your way over to the window, looking back at the camera before pointing at the window.
Rodimus smirked widely, getting an idea. "Smart girl. I need someone to call Rewind." The next thing you heard was Rung asking; "How come you never told me any of this?" You also heard Whirl scoff. "Well, you didn't try to threaten any of my friends."
It made you happy to be honest. You had made a genuine friend. But it didn't take long after Whirl was done talking for Max to notice that you weren't in his field of view.
"Where is the human!" You sat down near the edge of the pillar you were behind. "I'm over here tin can. Just wanted to get out of the way before you accidentally step on me or something."
Max looked over at your form and you saw that he took note of your obvious injuries like your clearly broken arm and your throbbing leg. And that you couldn't do anything at the moment so he let you stay.
Max went to sit down and let out some air from his vents. He also looked out the window before his expression got way angrier. "That's the same starfield! We haven't moved at all!"
Max shot up from his sitting position and began pointing his gun at Rung and Whirl. "Seems like someone is gonna die. Do we have a volunteer." You looked at the three 'bots, that kept yelling at each other, with horror.
This reminded you of the many days with the DJD. Tears brimmed in your eyes as you lowered your head slightly. Your vision blurred as your cheeks became hot with the streaming tears.
"Please, stop this. I beg of you." Your voice was low, you almost thought that you were whispering but Max looked up at you. "I told you to shut-" Once his optics landed on your form he noticed your shaking and hiccuping.
"Please. I don't want to see anyone else dead." You looked up into his optics with a pleading look. It made Max stop in his tracks, why, he didn't know. It just did. Like you put some kind of spell on him.
His face got more straight as he got his bearings back. He looked onto the floor, with a guilty expression. He shook his head, letting the scowl fall back onto his face. "I said shut up."
He turned his attention away from you and back onto Whirl. What you didn't expect to happen next was a giant image of the big blue and pink 'con you had gotten to know as Overlord, thanks to the DJD.
You widened your eyes as you couldn't look away. And it seemed that Max couldn't either. You didn't see it but you could hear Rung grabbing Max and bringing him down, telling encouraging words to him, to calm him down.
Everything happened so fast from there. You were ripped from your thoughts when a loud bang rang throughout the room. You lowered your head slowly, afraid of what you would see. And now you knew why.
Rungs body was slumping from where he was bound in the chair, his head no longer there. Only a brain module hanging from threads. You lifted your hands up and covered your mouth, horrified at the sight.
Whirl had even gotten up and skewered Max back, like he had skewered Whirl before. "Right back at yah."
::: The medibay :::
You looked at Rung with a sad expression. If just you could have done something more. But no, you were useless like always. You had begun to ignore the tears that were streaming on your cheeks.
You wiped them away with your hand before sighing. You felt Ambs pushy against you and whine softly. You smiled as you petted his helm softly. "Thank you buddy." You sat down as he laid his helm in your lap letting you pet him like always.
You sighed softly as you looked at the other visitors. There weren't many at the moment, but that was mostly because visiting hours were ending soon. The current visitors left, meaning that you and Ambs were the only ones left.
"Why couldn't I have been more useful?" You questioned yourself again, still feeling guilty. You looked down at Ambs when you heard a small snore. He was asleep. You smiled softly as you continued to pet his helm, this time in complete silence.
::: Your habsuite :::
You wrapped your arms around your knees pulling them up to your chest, your chest warm with guilt. You felt like your whole world would crash down sooner than later.
Ambs weren't with you, as he was in the medibay, getting his Decepticon badge removed so he could be a neutral instead. It made you feel cold. Cold and warm. Warm with guilt and cold with loneliness.
You felt empty as well. Empty, cold, and warm. But the warm wasn't a nice calm warmth. No, it was like a burning fire, ready to burn it's next victim. And that victim was you.
You leaned your head down, letting the tears stream once again. You didn't cry for long though as you had been crying so much. Now you just felt dry. Dry, empty, cold, and burning. It was pure agony, and you lived in it.
You wouldn't want to change the feelings as you felt like it was what you deserved. You should have been the one to stop Max, you should have talked him out of it.
It was something Tarn had told you. Your words were a gift. You had been blessed with a way of talking. At least that's what Tarn had told you. Now, you weren't so sure.
"Y/N?" You didn't move an inch as the 'bot outside called your name and knocked on the door. "Y/N, I was just wondering if you wanted to come to the bar? We're gonna do some story telling. I think you're gonna like it."
When you didn't respond in the slightest the 'bot just sighed. "The door are always open for you if you need to get in. Just call me if you're gonna be around, okay?"
You heard the 'bot walk away after you once again didn't respond. You just leaned back and sniffled, your cheeks dry from the crying. Why couldn't you just be more useful?
