Chapter 11

Jackson, hurry before you're late for school. David, can you drive your brother to school? Rachel was in the kitchen putting breakfast on the table.

Hey honey, have you seen my car keys? I can't remember where I put them.

They're in your jacket pocket.

I got them. I don't know what I'd do without you. Richard kisses his wife goodbye before leaving for work.

Washington D.C., NASA HQ

Richard clocks into work and heads to his station, then he logs on to his computer.

Hey Tom, how are the wife and kid?

They're good. Sara and I are thinking about going to Sweden for our anniversary. And Jermy has himself a girlfriend now.

How are Rachel and the boys?

Their good Davide is getting ready to go to college now.

Oh, which college is he going to? Harvard.

What congratulations man! That's great. I also reacted the same way when I found out.

In space around Jupiter, a rift opens in space, and the 268th fleet exits.

We've exited the rift commander. Commander, we're receiving a transmission from the planet.

What does it say?

It says fuck you in the imperial language.

Commander, if you don't mind me asking, I thought the earthling couldn't do interstellar travel yet, so how are they using our language?

They aren't able to yet. It will take them at least another 2,000 years before they can. The reason it's in our language and other languages is that the earthling doesn't know about the galactic language yet.

They are using their language, but when their language translates into other languages, we get another message than what they intended.

A lot of species get invaded or enslaved because they have insulted another race without even realizing it by trying to make contact with other species. Some races even use it as an excuse to invade and enslave other species who know nothing of space, which is against the galactic law.

You would know this if you read the intel on earthlings.

Have the AI hack into their network to determine whether they are worthy to join our empire or become slaves for the empire.

Commander, the AI has finished going through all the information and is ready to give its report.

I suggest that Earth-7943 is not to join the empire. And what is your reason for that Adrienne asked?

From the information I gathered, they are not the brightest species. They fight over everything, even trivial stuff. For example, they are fighting over something so trivial as skin color, even though they all bleed the same color of blood.

They hide their technology from each other because they think the other person wants to use it against them, but if they were to share their technology like a few of them do, then they could have possibly already invented interstellar travel, but they didn't. But I can say that not all of them are stupid, so enslaving them might be better.

Adrienne sat there thinking about what to do with the earth. Okay, here's what we'll do. We'll try to communicate with the humans first to see if we can take the planet with no bloodshed. If they refuse, then we will take it by force. Afterward, we'll colonize the planet and the surrounding planets too, then we'll set up a rift gate to transport men and supplies here.

Back on Earth-7943

Richard is working on his computer at his workstation when a message pops up on his screen.

Rejoice, humans, for we have selected Earth to join the great Ghost Empire.

The same message was being broadcast all over the planet. Many people did not take the message seriously. They thought it was a hacker group playing a prank.

At the Pentagon, the president is being briefed on the situation in a conference room. What do we know so far?

We know nothing yet, Mr. President. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.

You're telling me someone has hacked into our government, the United States Government and we don't fucking know who did it. What the hell were you all doing when it happened? Twiddling your fucking thumbs, braiding each other's hair.

While the president is yelling, a message appears on the screen in the conference room.

We would like to talk to your world leaders. So we will broadcast our message across your entire planet in 2 hours. They broadcast the same message throughout the planet and to all the world leaders of Earth-7943.

What the hell is this? Find out who is doing this and do it fast.

Um, Mr. President, I think I know where the hackers are.

Where are they?

That's the thing, sir. The signal is originating from space.

You're telling me ET is the one hacking us?

Yes, sir.

Sir, I just got a call from NASA. They say large objects are headed straight toward earth at a fast speed.

Jesus, we're being invaded by aliens. Prepare the military for an imminent threat I want us ready for when ET and his friends get here.

(I don't know if you all can tell, but I do not know how the government works or functions, so I'm just making this all up as I go. So please bear with me.)

All military and armed forces across the world started moving. When people saw this, they knew something was wrong and that there might be some truth to those messages that they got. Fear and panic rose in people's hearts. Riots and looting were going on throughout the world, and all this took place 1 hour after the empire's broadcast.

1 hour before the empire broadcast its message to the entire world.

In an underground bunker beneath the white house.

Is this real?

I believe it is, Mister President. They contacted not only us, but every power-holding country got a message from the aliens asking to have a private talk before they broadcast. They will do a video chat with all the countries.

Ah, alright tell them we'll listen to whatever they have to say.

40 minutes before the broadcast

Adrienne is preparing to video message the top countries in power.

Gentlemen, I would like to thank you all for accepting our invitation, so shall we get down to business? First, I feel it is appropriate that I introduce myself to you all. My name is Zero, commander of the 268th fleet of the Ghost Empire imperial navy. Now the reason I have asked for this meeting is that I wish to spear your planet from the bloodshed of its natives so I have a proposal for you all when I make my announcement of bringing your planet under the empire's control I want you all to back me up and support my decision. But if you decide to fight me instead, I will make your world burn and enslave you all. You have 20 minutes to make your decision. I hope you all make the right one.

And with that, Adrienne ended the video transmission of the country's leaders.

Admiral Davies, I want you to load the guns and aim them at the most powerful countries on the planet. Fire on the most populated places in those countries if they refuse to submit to the empire. Tell the men to get ready to deploy down to the surface of the planet. I also want you to build the rift gate so we can transport our supplies over and also start building a space station on the moon, just in case the alliance or anyone else tries to intervene.

Prep me a ship. I'm headed back to Thanatos (the empire's home world). Contact me when you're done here.

(I know some of you, if not all of you, feel as if this chapter was rushed, but I can assure you it wasn't. The reason I wrote it the way I did it is because I see in a lot of movies or tv shows where the earth is invaded by an advanced race but somehow earth still wins against them. But I feel like if this is where to have really happened, then they would just block our communication or hack into it and listen in on all of our plans, and if any of that were to have really happened, then we would have already lost. Because how can we communicate if they blocked it or are listening in on it? And I also feel as if their weapons and technology are more advanced than ours, so they would have the advantage over us in weapons and technology. But I see in a lot of these moves somehow the protagonist is somehow able to operate their technology even if it is in another language and they always manage to all ways push the right buttons to get it working. Not knowing if they might just hit the self-destruct button instead. And the invaders never use their technology or weapons to their advantage. It's like they want to be destroyed. If it was me, I would have just invaded them from space and shot them from orbit. Taking out their Japanese first and their major cities to put the most fear into them and make it easier for me to invade.)
