Chapter 21 - Out of the Darkness

Kiyoshi was terrified when Daku was aggressive at him , shaking in fear .

"What the hell you're talking about?" Daku angrily asked him in response .

"I...I'm just asking if you're okay," Kiyoshi answered back with nervousness with his guard on.

"I said I'm not fine!" Daku exclaimed back angrily.

But Kiyoshi managed to disarm Daku of his weapon and hugged him, telling him that it is okay. Moved by Kiyoshi's compassion, Daku eventually stopped attacking. The ordeal was over, but it only cost Kiyoshi's right hand.

Later, Kiyoshi managed to bandage his hand while Daku sat on the chair, trying to calm down.

"How come you are so good and kind," Daku asked Kiyoshi suddenly. "You...You tried to stop me from raging out."

Turning around towards Daku, Kiyoshi answered back, "Because I don't want to see you like that.

So, tell me, why are you like that?"

At first, Daku doesn't want to tell Kiyoshi why he was raging out, but he eventually gave up and told him in answering, "It's because I was so jealous of other people's lives. But I realized something..."

"Something what?" Kiyoshi asked back.

"They were gone," answered Daku back in sadness.

"You mean you killed them?" Kiyoshi asked in his mind.

But this tempts Kiyoshi to judge him, but luckily he didn't.

And then, Daku continued, "I tried to play with them, but they were gone now. I am so guilty for making them gone."

"What the hell?" Kiyoshi thought in his mind. But he still didn't judge him.

So, Kiyoshi stood up, walked to the main doorway, and looked at Daku, with a saint-like look on his face. He then said to him, "Come with me." He literally offered Daku a hand with a smile.

Daku looked at him with wonder, and at first, he hesitated, but he eventually gave up and accepted his help, sparking a new friendship between them.
