Chapter 8: First Quest Pt. I
The journey was long, the quest given by the receptionist was to get certain kills for goblins and black wolves. With little information to work with other than the location for a camp and a cave where they reside in, everything else was a mystery.
What level where they? Do they have more in their camps than what is said on the quest log? Is there a boss monster with a higher rank? All these questions were flowing in my mind, I had to get stronger, but if it meant dying... Then this will all be for naught.
"Brother, we are almost reaching the destination for the cave. Shall we prepare?"
I looked at Jared who was staring at me while we were walking down a gravel path.
"Yes prepare, remember your roles."
Both Jared and Kira responded with, "Yes brother!"
We got in a crouching position as we got closer to the cave to avoid any attention towards us. I wanted to get the advantage and finish the fight before it even begins officially. I saw one of the wolves eyeing the trees and beyond looking for intruders.
'One lookout huh'
We kept sneaking around the trees, and that is when I received a notification.
[Beginner Sneak FFF(PROF:|0/50) acquired]
'What?! another skill'
I continued to sneak around before having a perfect advantage and told Kira to aim with her newly equipped staff, the guild loaned.
"Fireball"
The ball of fire began to manifest itself on top of the staff, forming itself from wildfire to a ball. The ball of fire began to spin and as she directed it towards the wolf, pointing the staff at it, it then began to move slowly then fast directly at the wolf.
It made contact

The black wolf fell to the ground, but it began to get up, and before it could cry for help.
'Axe throw!'
I threw the axe and made contact, successfully silencing him.

We approached the wolf and carried it towards the entrance of the cave, before dropping it off and then continuing inside while sneaking to avoid detection.
The cave was rather deep, no wonder the other wolves didn't run out after hearing a blast. I wouldn't have either. As we ventured inside I could see bones of deceased monsters and other commonfolk who fell prey to these wolves.
One of the commonfolk, was gripping a dirty axe with his left hand, which I ended up taking. "Another man's trash, is another man's treasure" I spoke out loud to myself, before placing the axe in my back pocket.
As we reached the end, we could hear the sounds of munching and bones cracking. As I peeked the corner, I could see the rest of the pack, 4 of them just as the log indicated, eating their food. This would be their last meal.

I quietly whispered to Kira
"Can you make a big fireball enough to hit all the targets?"
She responded after staying silent thinking.
"yes, I can"
"Okay do that, and after that cover us, with your dagger, if we happen to be in danger, throw it towards them. Jared, you and I are going to face them, try to pull their aggro."
"Yes brother"
We began to sneak down the slanted path.

I took a glance at the notification and then signaled Kira to begin the assault on the wolves.
"Fireball!"
The process was repeated once again, the wildfire turning into a ball before spinning and heading in their direction, catching them all off-guard.

The wolves all began to whimper and finally finding us.
"Now Jared!!!"
"Battle Cry!!!"
All the wolves were now focused on Jared all heading to his direction, limping. Before they could jump on him I threw one of my axes killing him, and then jumping on another, repeatedly stabbing him with the other axe I got from the dead commonfolk.

The other two black wolves began to jump on Jared, which he managed to easily shake off. He moved his shield away before killing off one of the wolves, but it left an opening for the other one which bit into his arm, not letting go.
I rushed towards Jared, who tried to shake him off, which pointed useless, but I ended up jamming my axe into the wolf instantly killing it.

I ended up getting another notification that was new to me.

'Wow it ain't much gold but that CS will surely help a ton in the future'
"Good job guys, let collect the pelts and their meat to eat for later, we will rest here for a while and continue with the goblin hunt later."
They both looked at me with a worry expression.
"What?"
Jared looked at me and down at his arm, which was still bleeding.
"OHh yeahh I forgot... Sorry Jared, lets fix you up"
