Chapter Twenty four

KELECHI'S POV

Sometimes, I wished morning would not come so fast. I needed my beauty sleep. Whenever I did not get enough sleep, I would be cranky through out the entire day.

However, after that adventures night with Ben, I woke up in a good mood. Usually, I would have been grumpy because of the lack of sleep. I was strangely in a good mood.

"Good morning." Ben's annoying accent did not seem that annoying anymore. When he greeted me with a goofy smile on his face, it didn't irk me. Instead I smiled back at him like the idiot I was becoming.

"Morning!" I chirped as I made my way over his body to get off the bed. But he held me firmly against his torso, in a stranding position.

"Are you leaving?" Looking up at me, his rested both his hands on my thighs, tracing his fingertips on my skin.

"Before nko?" I giggled. "What else am I supposed to do? Today is Christmas Eve. It's going to be a very busy day. I have to do a lot of things."

"Including me?" He smirked . It cut me off guard. He did not just say that.

"...." I opened my mouth to say something witty but no words came out. I was speechless.

" You could start with me." He suggested. I didn't miss it when his gaze dropped to my lips.

" China Uchechukwu Benjamin! Are you flirting with me?" I was amused. I didn't see it in him. Teasing me? I was sure he could do. But flirting? No no, I didn't think he had it in him. He was always so uptight, too bent on being proper. I was still surprised about his performance last night.

"What do you think?" He didn't give me the chance to reply. He gently brought me close to cover his lips with mine. His movements were slow and precise. He kept teasing me with little feather light kisses. When I leaned in for more, he would bit my bottom lips, suck and then lick it. I tried to copy him but he pulled away. "I suggest you don't start what you can't finish." Like me, he was out of breath. He cupped my face with his hands, caressing my cheeks. " You don't know what you do to me...."

As if on que, something warm and solid poked my butt cheeks.

"I think I do." I whispered against his ear before leaving a kiss on his neck.

Before he could stop me again, I escaped from his grip giggling. But my giggling stopped immediately I came out his room. Miss Broadcaster was right in front of me looking at me, she looked confused as to why I had been laughing

"Happy Christmas Eve!" I screamed excitedly at her. Little Miss picked up the excitement quickly and screamed "happy Christmas Eve" back.

"Lemme go and wish everybody." She ran towards the kitchen where her mom probably was. With her little feet tapping against the floor, I heard her screaming " Mummy, Happy Christmas Eve!.... Daddy happy Christmas Eve!.... Meso happy Christmas Eve!..." She kept greeting everyone with that same  level of excitement each time. She really was a broadcaster.

I happily went to my room with a little bounce in my feet. "Today is going to be perfect." Our Christmas outfits would be arriving today, my hair was already done, everything was in place. Finally, things felt like they were going my way.

"Kelechi! Kelechi!" I heard mama calling me from the living room.

"Ehh! "

"Go and boil water for me!"

"Okay!"

I quickly wore a hoodie over my nighty. The morning air was too cold. Was it this cold in the night? How come I didn't feel it? A part of me could already guess why. I could feel my cheeks go hot as I smiled.

While I filled the kettle with water, Ben came in.

"What are we having this morning?" He brought his body closer to mine, holding my waist firm.

"The usual. Pap or tea with Akara and bread."

"Are you not on the menu?" He whispered in my ear. I feel him smirk when buried his face at the nook of my neck. Suddenly, the kitchen was too hot for me.

"You should stop. Someone might see us. " I tried to pull away from him.

"Nobody likes to be in the kitchen unless their hungry. " He stated it like a fact.

As if the universe heard him, Aunty Carol came in. Startled, we pulled away from each other and pretended to be busy with something else.

"Aunty Carol, good morning." I greeted her. She looked at Ben with a cunning smile. She gave me a knowing look before responding.

"Morning, my dear. How are you?" She left without waiting for my reply.

Ben left the kitchen too, without a word.
