Mirna
'Why did you bring her here? You know it's not safe for her to meet me.'
'I have too. I know what happened back then but my child…she's connected to you.'
'It's not time for her to meet me.'
'But Unega, she's your mate.'
'I know but not in this time.'
'She's having nightmares already. She's searching for you already and those nightmares won't go away. She needs you there.'
'I might be her mate but not in this time, Eclaire. In the right time, she's the one who's going to look for me for answers and once she did, there's no stopping it anymore.'
'Then tell me how can make her nightmare stops?
'You can't only her can. What you can do for her is be there to calm her till her mate does.'
'You mean when you come.'
'Just tell her my story. Let her mind remember that. It will help her soon to find me.'
I was lost as soon as I suddenly heard some voices while watching a very beautiful woman crying while holding the fragile and trembling hand of a young girl. I could feel the anger coming from the huge white tiger but at the same time, it was totally afraid of getting close to the young girl as if she's the reason for her sudden death. Both of them wanted and needed to be with each other yet the time wasn't letting them be. As time went by, slowly, the huge white tiger faded in the deep forest that belongs to her young beloved.
"Mirna…" a faint voice from a distance called my name which made me listen even more.
"MIRNA!" Elrisha's voice woke me from the sudden daydream of something I am not sure of if it's my past life or the other way around.
"W-what happened?" I wondered as I felt a little dizzy from I am not sure what.
"You suddenly daydreamed as soon as you finish singing." Elrisha answered which I carefully nodded since I'm still a bit dizzy.
"Here, drink water. Are feeling okay now?" she handed me a glass of water with worry written all over her face.
"Hm, yeah. The dizziness faded." I reassured her after I finished the glass of water she gave to me.
"Care to tell me what just happened in your daydream?" she might sound a bit curious about what I just daydreamed of but there's always a worry along with them.
"Hmm, I went into someplace in another time…I saw this young girl then died when I got closer to her then another one was a teenage girl. Everything happened really fast forward. The teenager and I felt really happy like a couple but some rotten creature killed her in front of me and hell break loose. Then the next scene was, I'm in some cave nesting and resting when a crying woman entered with her trembling child. I know there I was mad but at the same time frightened that I might kill her like the other since they were all my partner during those times." I told her what I could remember about my sudden daydream that was very rare to happen to me.
But as soon I said those words to her she was totally quiet as if she was thinking deeply about certain things that I'm not so sure if I could handle if she suddenly drops them into my face.
Elrisha
All I could think of was 'she's definitely my other half' which left me quiet for a brief moment before staring back at her worried orbs then smile.
"I see, what's the last thing you remember?" I carefully asked her what she could remember about her daydream.
"Hmm, I remember that I said 'Just tell her my story. Let her mind remember that. It will help her soon to find me.'…then I woke up from your voice calling my name." Mirna answered in her best capacity of remembering.
"Ah, distant memories." I smiled because it was the exact words that my beloved Unega Unatsi told my mother when she and I gave her a sudden visit.
"Did that happened?" she wondered which made me smile went wide.
"What do you feel then?" I couldn't help the smile to reach my ears already as I asked her that.
"I ask then answered by another question, really El? Well, it felt so real as if I am that huge white tiger." She rolled her eyes in irritation but she still answered my question.
"Then it's real." I chuckled a little which I earn a light slapped over my shoulder.
"You're just saying that because I said so." She chuckled a little.
"No. it's because I'm there." I honestly told her which made her sensed that I am serious about my answer.
"I don't get it." She was indeed confused as it was also written over her face.
"Does Éclaire's name ring any bells?" I wondered if that name rings any bell about her daydream then she just curiously nodded as her response.
"That's my mother's name and I am the trembling little girl that you describe." I cleared that put her reaction in disbelief.
"How's that even possible?" she wondered.
"Remember I am a vampire that just looks like I'm just around in my mid-thirties." I frankly reminded her that I am no ordinary fellow that she ever met.
"But that doesn't make any sense why I had those memories of your younger year?" she was still confused about that part which I totally get but I knew somewhere inside of her could already tell what it meant.
"I think you know the answer to that." I smirked knowingly at her which made her pouted before playfully hit my shoulder again.
I chuckled over her playful slap over my shoulder until I recalled that it was already time for dinner. Good thing, I finished cooking when she suddenly went quiet and had some daydream of the distant memories from Unega Unatsi. I got up from the seat while I could feel her stare over my back then I shiver before I sneezed. I kept preparing the dining table while she stayed over the living area and staring at me as I moved.
"Why you sneezed?" Mirna asked as she noticed how frequently I am sneezing around her.
"Hmm, because of your weird scent." I directly answered as if it was common to me then I help her took a seat on her same spot across mine earlier at lunch.
"Care to tell." She really wanted to hear more about it. Such a curious girl.
"Let just say that your aromatic scent of fruits and mint tea wasn't the best scent hitting my nose. It was like I am always in the bridge of losing control but at the same time not since I learned how to control them from time to time." I easily explained to her as I took also a seat while she's putting some toasted bacon on her plate.
"Have you ever lost control over my scent?" she wondered or maybe she recalled something that could tie to what we're talking about now.
"In fact, I did but it's due to your fresh blood and not just by the natural smell." I honestly answered which made her nod as she took a bite from my tuna carbonara pasta.
"That's why your eyes change colors and made you tense as if you trying to control yourself from drinking my blood." She guessed it right to the point and it made me smile while we kept eating our dinner.
"Are you sure you're in the right job since you could be a sharp detective?" I wondered since she really does have a sharp mind in guessing things.
"I'm more on papers and thinking things than doing the action. I'd rather command and plan than being in the front line." Mirna honestly told me as she shrugged her shoulders.
"But did you think of pursuing it?" I still wondered since her guesses were all accurate one.
"One of my choices, yes. But I always love experimenting that's why I am working with your company now." She honestly answered which I am proud that she chooses this line of work with me.
"Great. It's my pleasure to have some brains as you had." I smirked before having the last bite of tuna carbonara pasta.
"You sounded like a zombie." She chuckled which I found amusing then she drunk her water since she already finishes her meal before I could. Fast eater but never get bloated.
"Funny but I don't like to eat them. I'd rather make it crazy." I playfully joked which made her laughed that I never saw before with her.
"Can you make me crazy?" she dared as I saw some desire suddenly flickered through her eyes. It was quick but it doesn't mean that it wasn't there.
"Aren't you?" I countered with the same desire which she just chuckled.
"Touché, Elrisha. Touché." She only managed to say to me since I am right. We both desire something and that's what we can't speak of it yet. We just didn't know what to name it or if we do, can we hold them all together and never let it fade.
As our food was finally done, I help Mirna clean up before we talk more about certain things that I could sense that's bothering her lately. Mirna took the liberty to wipe that dining table while I do the dishes. I offered it since I moved more quickly in the kitchen. Perks of hosting a big event in the main mansion of the Cross family – well, I'm more on handling kitchen duties each time there's a big gathering that our family was hosting. Anyway, that was before and it's different now.
"El, can you tell me about the white tiger?" Mirna suddenly wondered about the white tiger she suddenly saw in her daydream a while ago.
"Hm, what about it?" I cautiously asked as I dried my hands with the kitchen towel.
"Tell me its story." She told me as she finished as well cleaning the dining table.
"I'm not fully well taught about its story but my mother used to tell me a short and pinpointed tale of a very unique white tiger. It was pure white as snow which you could even tell the stripes were on its skin and that white tiger named Unega Unatsi. She's a beautiful white tiger but her traits were totally different from her kind. Yes, she was still a tiger but due to her unlikely physical appearance, strength and powers of all cats, and her strong-kind-hearted heart were being envied that cause of her being left behind. Yet, through does hardships, she has strong faith that they couldn't break down easily. She kept standing up whenever they pushed her down and since she possessed a great deal of hope, she never gave up on everything that her mindset on. She kept going even if she falls down which almost took her life away but the love that she longed for always sparks the hope and faith inside of her into the fire." I told her what I knew about the white tiger that my mother telling me since I was a kid.
"You see, Unega Unatsi might appear as pure as white snow but her strength was indeed burning suns that never fade its fire." That's what I realized along the way at each time I could recall that tale.
I went to the dining area after I informed her about it but she just went into her silent mode again which I am not sure what she was thinking. I groaned since I couldn't clearly read her mind over some certain topic. Well, there were times they were too loud and sometimes gave me headaches but mostly, she's really hard to read. I don't have the big qualities of a mind reader but having some strong thoughts about me could hit my mind big time – migraine especially when it comes from her.
"Do I inherit those traits as well?" I suddenly heard her question which made me look at her carefully. I am trying to her read but there was something cloaking from seeing what lies behind her longing eyes.
"Maybe. But you affected me with your warmness." I honestly told her what I really felt around her ever since we spend time together.
Mirna didn't say anything but she smiled which sent shivers down my spine since it was totally hit my heart in the strike zone. She never failed to amuse my heart but my smile turned to sour when I suddenly felt not right and she noticed my sudden seriousness.
"What's wrong?" she worriedly asked as she noticed my sudden mood change.
"Something is lurking in the shadow of the building." I smirked but I knew my eyes were turning into a deep shade of red. It always happened whenever I am on the edge of wanting to kill someone.
"What…night creature? Fallen rogue?" she was confused but when she saw my eyes, she changed her question as I could sense her fear.
"Not sure what type but keep quiet and keep your daily routine with me." I instructed her which made her lips trembled. I don't like that.
"O-okay…" she stuttered as she tried her best to calm herself but nothing was happening. So, I decided to appear in front of her and took the liberty to steal a kiss from her lips just to divert her attention from fear to me.
"Hey, I am here. I won't let anyone hurt you." I reassured her after I kissed her lips deeply. The kiss we shared on our very first meeting at that party.
