You Deserve To Be Alone, You Monster

Nathan frantically dashed up the stairs, skidding with his socked feet on the carpet as he rounded the landing. "Mom! Amber! Somebody please make some sort of noise!"

His mother's car was in the other space in the garage like it always was…they had to be here. Amber's stroller was still in there too so they hadn't gone on a walk. His feeling of unease increased at the ongoing silence and all the evidence piling up that something was terribly wrong.

His room was closer to the stairs so he went to check on Amber first and was greeted by a horrible sight. So much was going on that it was hard to process it all at once. The first thing he noticed was the figure of his mother hanging from the ceiling fan with what appeared to be nylon stockings knotted around her neck, obviously dead.
