CHAPTER 6

"We've found his car but he is missing" the police informed.

Richard looked over his shoulder at the desperate lady who was pacing back and forth.

"Anything else?" he almost whispered through the phone.

"There are some marks on the road which seems like he was being dragged out of the car"

"Dragged? So you mean this is a kidnapping?" Richard could not believe his ears. He was so dismayed that he did not realize when his wife came stood next to him.

"There is blood on the road and we suspect it is a kidnapping but we will find him Mr. Lorraine, don't worry" the officer consoled as Richard wiped the sweat forming on his forehead with the back of his hand. The situation was getting worse and he felt helpless.

"Please, keep me updated" that was all he could say before hanging up the call.

He turned around when he suddenly heard a thump behind him and saw his wife, Charlotte, on the floor, tears freely flowing through her blue eyes as she sobbed in her hands. He knelt down before holding her shoulder and helping her up and walked to the chair ,sitting her down. He held her close to him, letting her cry on his shoulder.

"Blood. Oh my God. What on earth has happened to my baby, Ric? Where is he? Bring him back to me Ric. Get my Raven back. Please. Please." she sobbed as her tears soaked his shirt, he could not find words to calm her down. He rubbed her back, assuring her somehow that they will bring their son back.

Their only son, Raven Loraine.

Anna groaned waking up to a sore neck and sat up on the couch ,holding her scruff.

"Ugh, I am never sleeping on the couch again" she frowned over herself for sleeping in a wrong position previous night. She always tried to avoid sleeping on couch because of that, she could never adjust. Standing up from the couch, she rubbed her eyes and looked over at the clock that displayed 8:35am. It was a Thursday, so it was her day off. Since the coffee shop is even open on Sundays, she decided to keep one day off for herself and all the staff. Everyone deserves a holiday at least once a week is what her mother used to say.

Stretching her back a little she walked into her bedroom clumsily and almost tripped on her steps. When she reached the door, she held the knob and opened it before stepping inside. When she glanced inside, a scream broke through her, almost shaking the whole house when she saw a half naked man standing near her room window, both hands stuffed inside the side pockets of his black trousers. He was staring outside.

She placed her hands on her chest, steadying her ragged breathing. She had totally forgotten about the incident last night, the accident, the man she helped.

He was still at the window, watching God knows what through the glass outside. He did not even flinch at her scream.

She held the door frame and straightened herself ,gently knocking on it ,trying to grab the man's attention. He didn't budge, lost in his own world somewhere. She frowned, was he ignoring her? Ignoring someone who saved his life? She knocked again a bit harder, "Hello?" she spoke as calmly as she could.

His head turned to the right , displaying his chiseled jaws and she saw them clench. The shirtless man slowly turned his whole body to looked at the owner of the voice. He looked at her before fixing his eyes on her hazel ones that stared back at his green  orbs.

She almost stopped breathing when they made eye contact again. This was not like the previous night, this stare was more intense, so much that the room suddenly grew hot. There was around 7 feet between them across the room but she could feel the heat that spread throughout the room.

She felt heat rising to her cheeks because the way he was staring at her. She felt her heart racing with every passing second.

He tilted his head to one side as if testing how long she could keep continuing the staring game. She did not move or blink, lost in the green orbs. Her eyes only widened when she saw the similar green orbs getting closer, he stepped towards her, slowly and steadily.

She wanted to step back, she wanted to run away from that hot room but she could not move as though her limbs were glued in place. He was coming closer with every step that he took and the temperature was increasing around her. He stopped two steps away from her and stared down at her, his gaze not once breaking from hers.

He was so much more taller than what she assumed when he was laying unconscious. She felt his burning gaze right into her soul and her cheeks were burning by then.

'Why is he staring? Why am I staring back? Why am I not out already?' her trail of thoughts came to an abrupt stop when he stepped ahead once more.

This was too much, the heat was too much. She took in her sharp breath and stepped back from him.

'Wow, I could actually move.' she thought sarcastically.

He stepped closer again as if filling up for the one step she had taken back. She stepped back again, nervousness now filling her mind. He stepped ahead for the last time and she found herself tapped between the door frame and the muscular man who did not once break his gaze from her. Her breaths started coming out short as she looked up at the man towering her.

'Okay Okay, Anna. Calm down. Calm down. Say something. Just say something and get out of here.'

her inner mind said to her. She let out a shaky breath before saying,

"Hi".

' Seriously? Hi?'

her inner mind snorted at her choice of words. The sides of his lips curved up slowly as his eyes sparkled. Anna stared confused at the man.

'Is he bipolar? Why is he suddenly smiling?'

' No he is smirking'

Her inner giggled in her ears. Ignoring the voice she opened her mouth to say something but before the words could slip from her lips , the man circled his hands around her and pulled her close to his body, burying his face in the crook of her neck.

She froze in her place and her breathing stopped. Her eyes almost popped out of the sockets and her hands raised in surrender position in the air.

'What just happened?'

'what the fuck just happened?' her inner voice was equally traumatized

He hugged her tight, smiling in her neck like a baby. She could not process what happened and before she could push him away, something slipped from his lips.

"Noona. I missed you"
