CHAPTER 5

Anna stood besides the double bed, hands crossed against her chest with frown covering her face as she stared down at the man occupying her room. It was quite silent other than the sound of the man's heavy breaths as his chest moved up and down.

Her grandmother had asked her to sleep on the couch and let the injured rest comfortably on her bed and she could not refuse either. She had brought him here so she had to take the responsibility as well. The guest room was dusty and his huge figure would not fit in the couch in the living room so the only option left was her room .

The room was quite decent and cozy. Cleanliness being her first priority always, her room was pretty tidy and organized.

There was a cabinet to keep her precious belongings and above that hung a beautiful painting her mother had gifted her the day she turned 16.

There were some more paintings placed at the wall above her bed. Two small vase holders, were hung beside the paintings below which there was a night stand. A leather seat chair with a cushion was placed right beside the window where she always used to sit and read her favorite novels.

She moved to the leather chair and pulled it closer to the bed before sitting down on it, pulling the cushion over her lap and rested her elbow on it. Her face forming a pout when her cheeks rested into her palms.

She peeked at the man who was partially turned onto his left side with a cushion under his back, supporting his posture and his injured right shoulder. His back was at her which did not allow her to take a look at his unreal features.

'This man. Why does he seem to be familiar? I am quiet sure I've never met him before but still..'

she stared at his bandaged back.

Her eyes wandered from his back to his hips and his long legs. He was really built well.

Everywhere that her eyes travelled on him, she could see only muscles.

'Okay. Stop gawking you stupid' she broke her stare from his legs but before she could look away, her eyes caught some small movement. She glanced at his hand that was resting on his side as it closed into a fist and the muscles on his arms flexed, the veins popping out slightly. She gulped at the sight.

'Wait. Is he waking up?' her eyes never left his muscular arms that were slowly moving and his fist tightened. She gasped when he suddenly flattened his back on the matters, his fist falling to the side. His lips slightly quivered and his brows knitted together.

'Is he having a nightmare?' She stood up from the chair and approached him slowly She sat down by his side as his face formed into a frown.

For some unknown reasons, she placed her palm on his forehead and moved it upward running her fingers through his black hair.

And as if waiting for it, he instantly stilled at her touch. His fist undone and his brows back to rest. Anna stared confused at the man and pulled her hand back to her lap.

Why did she just do that? Her gaze travelled over his face again as if memorising his fine features one by one. Every detail of his face was so perfect except the little scratches here and there which were probably because of the accident.

Her eyes landed on his closed ones and saw as they suddenly started to flicker. The corners of his eyes formed tiny crinkles when he tried to open his eyes. Her gaze was fixed to his flickering lids that were now slowly uncovering.

Her breathing suddenly slowed down as though she was nervous but why? She didn't know. The second his lids opened slightly, her face was the first thing in his sight as their eyes met.

His Eyes, she had never seen such a mesmerizing pair of eyes in her life. They were a deep shade of forest green. So deep ,you could get lost into them and never want to come back. The look they were sharing was mutual, lazily staring at the eyes they hadn't seen before.

Anna could hear her heart beating in her ears as they didn't even blink and break the gaze. His lips moved and she could have sworn she heard something but could not quite grasp it. Before she could utter a word or comprehend what he said, unfortunately the stare broke as his eyes closed again. Disappointed at the loss of eye contact her shoulders slumped.

'Oh God, I should've asked his name at least' she face-palmed herself blaming herself for shamelessly staring at an unknown man.

Straightening up, she rose from the chair before picking up the cushion and a blanket, she walked towards the living room since she will be sleeping on the couch but stopped and turned around to take a look at the man again.

''His eyes were really something different" she whispered to herself before walking away, leaving the man all to himself but one thing was sure,

she wasn't going to forget about those eyes anytime soon.
