"What? You are still willing to learn from me."
"Yes, For you working on a Selfish path doesn't mean you are an inherently evil person. I am believing in the friend 'Boss' talked about, the warrior who stood up even after losing his arm.
I don't think learning from Assassin will make me an Assassin too. Moreover, I believe my feelings, no one takes a hard path willingly. Only what I hope is one day I make you give up this path willingly."
Adonis squinted his eyes and came close to the Zeph. He stared hard at Zeph looking for signs of weakness. Zeph returned his gaze without any vice.
Adonis moved back and knocked his hand on the counter.
"I have prepared clothes for you. Go and change in them. You will simultaneously work as weapon apprentice in the shop."
Zeph nodded calmly and went inside the room. He was an adult and he had his values and beliefs to which he sticks too. For him, nothing matters more than working towards his goal and what else he was not a stranger to killing.
Even his grandfather made him kill people as practice. He was a practical and rational man. For a warrior to have an oath like never hurting other people is like a fickle dream of a child.
He had faith in his intuition and decision. Also on his Elven Boss. after his grandfather, he only viewed Sauren and Elven as part of his life. For one provided him with friendship and others served as the best senior one could have.
Adonis looked as Zeph calmly went into the room. There was no happiness, or excessive joy only calmness on his face. He could become the best assassin with this level of collected and clear mind.
He shakes his head to toss this professional thought out of his mind. It was an occupational disease assessing the value of a person to label his level of danger.
"To come out of this path is not decision one could make, Zeph. I hope you will forgive me for being rough on you. Because this life is nothing but walking with the constant sin of lives on your head."
After few hours Zeph arrived wearing a loose coarse shirt and loose trousers.
Adonis signaled him to the crafting bench and instructed him,
"We have to complete order of a sword repair before evening and because it is the very rare sword, we will work slowly and cautiously."
He took out a sheen bronze-colored straight long sword. Zeph was amazed by the sheer weight of the weapon, he looked around it and found it had a crack from one side which extended into its carving on the blade.
"Look here goes the crack, for you to understand. This carving is not ornamental. It gives the ability to hold energy and hymns while carried by warrior in battle. These blades have rich history....."
So began the session of sword information and repairing of weapon refiner and his apprentice. Lost in the conversation, if anyone observed them at this time. No one could think that they both are warriors in training, not students and teachers of forging weapons.
The whole day went by like that with Adonis repairing the sword and Zeph doing odd jobs aiding the Adonis. He continued his teachings of weapon refinery he had learned in his studies. Zeph continued to absorb knowledge as he was finding the art of weaponsmithing to be quite fascinating.
In the evening when the sun was on the horizon, a gentle couple entered the Shop. Man looking somewhat in his mid-sixties knocked at the counter to attract the attention of the shopkeeper.
"Yes, welcome to weapon refinery."
"Hello, I left my father's old sword here. Its name was luxuria, is it repaired."
Zeph approached and presented water to them. To which lady refused by shooting her hand. She scrunched her nose upon seeing coarse clothing of Zeph.
Zeph who was already a socially distant person didn't notice the thing and went on to present water to the man. The man politely nodded and took the glass to drink one mouthful and placed the glass back on the tray.
"Yes Mr grey, we have your sword ready. " Adonis spoke in professional voice but it somehow looked extremely out of character with his expressionless face.
He lifted the sword from the rack and presented it to the customer.
Mr. Grey acutely noticed the work and after some time nodded in approval.
"Good work Mr., ?"
"You can call me Adonis "
"Excellent work Mr. Adonis. I am satisfied with my work. Here is the rest of the payment with some extra coins due to your job. Seriously only some people can fix such an old sword with so little cost."
Adonis took the pouch and kept it inside the drawer. He then proceeded to bid farewell to the Couple. From starting to end Lady didn't speak a word.
Maybe she was considering such out of the way little shop beneath her standards. She moved with her husband and entered her beast carriage and soon couple traveled away to their path.
"Are requests like these usual?"
Adonis shakes his head, "No, this was one of the rare ones. Who is willing to send prized weapons to such a run-down shop? I usually work with weapons of standard warriors and sometimes for guild warriors."
Zeph nodded to convey the fact that he understood.
"Ok take these arrows, and deliver them to Rose guild. Make sure you say that these are ordered custom destroyer arrows "
Zeph caught the heavy bag thrown by Adonis. He swung the back over his shoulder and began to walk towards the Guild. He had already told me to be acquainted with a map of the city beforehand.
Adonis clicked his tongue when Zeph disappeared from his view. Actually, he had deliberately sent him for this delivery. He was still in the middle of grasping the character of the boy.
He wanted to know that going to such a women's place will make him excited but it looked like this man was even more focused than he thought.
He didn't even bother to change out of his apprentice clothes.
