Chapter 10: Party time

It's been a week since our triple date and it's Friday. We have Monday off, so it's a three-day weekend which everyone is excited about.

The six of us are hanging out in my family room trying to decide what we want to do tonight.

"I heard that Claira is throwing a party," Ariel says. "We can go crash it."

"I might end up punching her in her throat by the end of the night," I warn.

"Now we definitely gotta go," Brian speaks up. "I'd love to see Anna in her element."

Ariel smacks him upside the head while the girls and I glare at his slip up.

"Ow! Why the h-," he cuts himself off. "Oops."

Danny and Jerrico look at us in confusion, but we just wave them off.

I haven't told either of them about my other life that I use to live. I just don't know how to bring it up. Do I just randomly bring it up in conversation like, "Hey, can you pass me some chicken? Also, I forgot to mention that my dad is the leader of one of the biggest gangs in the city and I use to help him out. Please pass the mashed potatoes."

I don't want Danny to look at me differently and Jer is an idiot and would probably tell someone while drunk.

"Her element," Jerrico asked sounding so confused.

"It's nothing. I use to take self-defense classes," I tell him, which isn't a complete lie.

He drops the subject after that, believing me, but Danny's a different story. He can tell I'm lying but he doesn't bring it up.

"So party," Beth brings back up.

"I'm down," Brian says.

"Yeah, me too," Jer says.

The rest of us nod in agreement and the girls and I get up to go get ready in my room.

Beth puts on a long black see-through shirt and puts on a plaid spaghetti-strap dress that goes to mid-thigh on top of it. She pairs it with some thigh-high heeled boots and a black Coach purse. She puts her hair half up and half down.

I put on an Aerosmith band t-shirt with some black shorts on top of some fishnet stockings. I pair them with some white high-top Converse and a black Calvin Klein backpack. I put my hair up in a high ponytail.

Ariel puts on a tube top that zips up in the front and a skirt that goes to her mid-thigh. She pairs it with some white Nikes and a black Michael Kors purse. She leaves her hair down in its natural wavy state.

We look in the mirror, look at each other, and say, "We look hot!"

We head down to the guys, they give us compliments, and we head out.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We've been at the party for about an hour and a half and haven't seen the she-devil yet, which we were all happy about. Everyone but Ariel and I are drunk, Ariel because she doesn't really drink much, and me because I'm DD for the night.

Everyone is having a good time and Danny is being extra handsy tonight.

I'm grinding on him to some song and he's kissing on my neck.

"You look so good tonight, baby," he groans in my ear.

I turn in his arms and pull him in for a hot kiss. He pulls away after a while and ruins the moment.

"I have to pee," he yells over the music. "I'll be right back."

I give him a nod and watch him walk away. I head to the kitchen to get some more water and see Ariel holding Beth's head over the trash.

"I'm surprised she lasted this long," I say walking up and giving her a sympathetic look.

She just groans in response and Ariel laughs saying, "When she looked like she was about to puke, Jer ran the other way because he was feeling squeamish and didn't want to throw up when she did. So, here I am doing my best friend duty."

I walk over to the counter to grab Beth some water and I make her drink it.

"I'm never drinking again," she says after taking a swig and spitting it into the trash to try and get the taste out of her mouth.

Brian comes running in yelling my name. He looks at his sister in concern and asks if she's okay.

"She's fine. What's going on," I say.

"Umm, don't freak out, but I just saw Claira follow Danny up the stairs. I don't know if she was just heading that way or if she was actually following him b-," he gets cut off when I stomp past him.

"Anna, wait," he yells after me. "She doesn't have any weapons on her does she," he mutters as they all follow after me.

I ignore him and the girls and continue to stalk up the stairs. I make it to the top and I see red. I am on my period so this is not a good day to be messing with me.

"What the hell do you think you're doing you skank," I yell out as I run over to where Claira has her hands all over MY boyfriend.

I grab her by her hair and slam her face into the wall. She cries out and I hear the others calling my name, knowing to keep away from me when I'm like this.

"Babe! Calm down," Danny somehow manages to subdue me and stops me from my assault on the slut. She's on the ground holding her stomach, where I kicked her over and over and crying. I'm breathing heaving and angry tears are rolling down my face.

Everyone has sobered up by this point and a crowd has grown at the top of the stairs. I turn away from Claira before I go over and finish her. I push past everyone and head down the stairs. I make it outside and take a few deep breaths, trying to calm my breathing down.

At some point, Danny comes out and takes a seat next to me on the ground. I have my face buried in my arms that are resting on my knees. He puts a hand on my back and rubs softly, waiting for me to speak first.

"I'm sorry you had to see that," I finally whisper. I steal a glance at him and see that he's looking at me in concern.

"Are you okay," he asks me.

I stare at him in shock. "Am I okay? The better question is, are you okay. You just saw your girlfriend almost kill someone. If you hadn't stopped me, I would have."

He just continues to stare at me and it frustrates me.

"Why aren't you saying anything," I say in frustration.

"I'm just waiting for you. I'm here to listen, babe, so just talk to me," he says with a gentleness that makes me cry. "Is this what Brian was talking about earlier?"

I pause for a minute before giving him a nod and then speaking. I tell him my story and also explain what happened that day I disappeared. He's quiet for a minute, just processing the information, while I'm over here ugly crying. He finally pulls me in for a hug and speaks.

"Why didn't you just tell me that night? I wouldn't have judged you or anything."

"I was scared you would think of me differently or leave me," I tell him honestly.

He kisses the top of my head and mutters, "How many times do I have to tell you that I love you and I'm not going anywhere?"

"Umm, a million times," I say with a small voice.

He laughs and gives me a kiss. "You beat the crap out of her you know," he says when we pull apart.

"Good! Maybe now she'll learn her lesson not to mess with me," I say with a smirk.
