Chapter 9: Triple Date and Lazy Day

It's Wednesday and the gang decided it would be a good idea to go on a triple date tonight. At the end of the day, we decide to go over to Ariel's to hang out before the date.

"What's been going on guys," Beth asks while hanging off the side of Ariel's bed. Don't know why she always does this.

"Nothing really. Teachers have been piling up the work. We're seniors! There should not be this much work," Ariel yells, throwing her hands up in the air.

"Pretty sure they hate us," I say shrugging.

"Probably," they say at the same time.

"I can't wait for prom," I say. "We have to go even bigger than homecoming!"

They give me nods of agreement.

"I'm surprised the teachers didn't give us much homework tonight. I got it all done in study hall," Beth says, turning over onto her stomach.

"I'm even more surprised that the boys agreed to a triple date tonight," Ariel says.

"I know right! I thought they would say no for sure," I reply.

"It's probably because we said we wanted to watch Tenet," Beth said, rolling her eyes.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

The boys come to get us around six-thirty PM. Brian is driving the family SUV that their parents let them borrow so that we all have somewhere to sit.

"Hello ladies," Jerrico says when we enter the car.

"Hello boys," Ariel replies.

Who's ready to see Tenet," I sing excitedly.

"We are," they sing back.

We laugh and talk animatedly all the way to the movie theater.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

We're watching the movie and I'm so invested until I feel something on my leg. I look down and I see that Danny's hand is on my inner thigh. I try to focus on the movie but it is very difficult. All I can feel is his hand burning my leg as he rubs his hand back and forth.

I start to squirm and he notices.

He leans over to whisper in my ear and says, "Are you okay, babe?"

I squeak out a "yes" and he sits back straight in his seat, continuing his previous movements.

After ten more minutes, I say I'm going to the bathroom and practically run out of the theater.

I go to the bathroom and put my back against the wall, trying to get my heart rate under control.

The girls come in with concerned looks on their faces.

"Are you okay babes? You ran out of there like a chicken with its head cut off," Ariel says while approaching me cautiously.

"No, I'm not okay! I was about to jump that boy's bones in the theater," as I say this an old lady walks past with a disappointed look on her face. "Don't give me that look. You know you're no saint."

She blushes and scurries out of the bathroom meanwhile the girls are cracking up. I roll my eyes and continue what I was saying.

"Anyway, he kept rubbing my leg all sensual like and I know he was doing it on purpose! I'm trying to stay abstinent as long as I can, but he is not helping at all! I'm also not ready," I tell them, throwing my head back and groaning.

"I'm surprised you've lasted that long because let's be honest. Our men are hella sexy," Beth says, Ariel nodding in agreement.

"It is so hard, especially when we're in bed cuddling. All I can think about is what he would look like naked."

"Poor thing," Ariel says with an eye roll.

"You'll be fine, girl. If you're not ready then you're not ready, but if you are, then stop torturing the both of you and just do it already," Beth says.

I just groan and hang my head low.

"When will I know when the right time is," I ask them.

"You'll just know," they say at the same time.

I nod and we head back to the theater, after washing our hands because public bathrooms are gross.

I sit down and Danny leans over to me with concern on his face.

"You alright Anna," he asks me.

"Yeah I'm fine," I tell him with a reassuring smile.

I grab his hand so he doesn't try and put his hand back on my leg. He lifts my hand to his lips and kisses the back of my hand, making me give him a wide smile.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The boys drop us back off at Ariel's after the movie because we're having a sleepover.

"How was the rest of the movie," Beth asks me with amusement.

I roll my eyes at her teasing and stick my tongue out at her. "It was just fine," I tell her.

We walk into the kitchen behind Ariel and see that her parents left some lasagna in the oven for us.

"I love your parents so much," I fake cry.

"I know right. I guess they decided to have their date night tonight," she said while making us plates.

We sit and eating, chatting about random things. We head up to her room after and watch Netflix until we fall asleep.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next morning we wake up looking and feeling like zombies.

"Do we have to go to school," Ariel whines.

"I vote no," I say.

"How long do you think it would take our parents to realize that we aren't at school," Ariel asks.

"No idea, but I'm definitely not going to school today," Beth says, pulling the covers under her chin and snuggling more into her pillow.

Ariel and I grunt in agreement and we all go back to sleep. The next time I wake up, Beth is sitting up and texting on her phone.

"Parents or boyfriend," I ask her, sitting up.

She rolls her eyes and says, "Brother."

Ariel is still sleeping peacefully, so me being the great best friend that I am, push her off of the bed.

She lands with a thump and yells, "What the hell!"

"You just looked so peaceful, I had to wake you up to tell you how cute you looked," I coo at her.

She glares at me and gives me the bird. Beth and I laugh as she gets up to go to the bathroom, her hair sticking up on one side of her head.

When we have all had our turns in the bathroom we head downstairs to get brunch and laze around for the rest of the day. Our parents called us to check on us and just left us alone because they knew we needed a day off.
