Chapter 15: Caught again

I'm twelve weeks pregnant today, which means I'm finally done with my first trimester. I've basically stopped having morning sickness, which is great and I've gained fifteen pounds, which I cried about. My stomach is getting bigger and it's getting harder to hide it. I can tell my family is starting to get suspicious with the weight gain and my friends said that I'm starting to get that pregnancy glow.

"Get a room," Brian says, walking up to Danny and me. We are making out against the lockers and I forgot we were in school for a minute.

"Shut up," I say with a laugh. I wrap my arms around Danny's waist and we talk to everyone until the bell rings and then we head to class.

"See y'all at lunch," Ariel says, waving. We all say our goodbyes and head our separate ways.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I'm starving," I say, sitting down with a groan.

"I'll go get you some food baby," Danny says, kissing the top of my head, and going to get food.

"I love that man," I tell the others. They laugh and go get some food too.

I sit there rubbing my stomach and talking to the babies.

"Why do y'all have to make mommy so hungry all the time," I coo.

I look up as everyone returns.

"Were you talking to my babies," Danny asks as he returns to the table. He brought me a salad, a burger, fries, and two cookies.

"You really do love me," I fake cry and then answer his question, "And yes I was talking to the little ones."

"I wanted to ask you, can we go to the next ultrasound appointment with you? Just me and Ariel," Beth asks.

Danny looks at me to see if I'm okay with it and I look at the girls, "Yeah, that's okay with me."

They squeal and everyone laughs and eats their food.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The school day is over and we're all heading over to my house to hang out.

We walk in and my mom and the twins are in the kitchen making dinner.

"Danny," Jane yells running over to him and giving him a hug, while Greg runs over to me yelling, "Mar-Mar! I missed you!"

"What are we? Chopped liver," Jerrico says, throwing his hands up.

I laugh at him and the twins go and give everyone hugs.

"I'm gonna go upstairs to change and take some vitamins," I tell everyone heading up the stairs and to my room.

Just as I was pulling my oversized shirt over my head, my mom walks in the door.

"What in the name of all that is holy," she yells.

"Mom! What are you doing in here," I ask her nervously.

She shuts the door and comes over to me.

"You're pregnant? Why didn't you tell me," she asks, her eyes softening.

I burst into tears, sobbing. "I'm sorry mama, I just didn't know how to tell you. I wanted to so bad, but I didn't want you to be disappointed in me."

"Oh honey, you know you can come to me with anything," she says, pulling me into a hug.

I sob on her shoulder for a while until my tears finally dry. I pull away and look at her and she looks so sad but I don't know from what exactly.

"How far along are you," she asks me rubbing on my arms.

"I'm twelve weeks today," I tell her looking down.

"Really? Are you having multiples? I was this size around this time when I was pregnant with the twins," she says.

"Yeah, I'm having twins," I told her shyly.

"Oh honey, I'm so excited for you. I wish you would have waited and even told me, but I'm happy," she says, pulling me in for a hug.

"I'm sorry mom, we didn't mean for this to happen," I tell her in a small voice.

"I know baby, I'm just glad you and Danny are taking responsibility."

"Thanks for being so understanding."

"Of course! Now, show me some ultrasound pictures," she says excitedly.

I laugh and go grab the extra one from the last ultrasound appointment.

"This is peanut and bean," I tell her, pointing at each baby.

"How cute! Your father and I called the twins thing one and thing two," she tells me with a laugh.

"Suits them," I laugh with her.

Danny walks in asking what is taking so long and sees my mom holding the ultrasound picture.

"Hello, Danny. Is there something you would like to tell me," she asks him with a stern tone. I laugh and go to take my prenatal vitamins and finish changing, letting them talk.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mom messed with him for a little bit before finally giving him some relief. Now we're downstairs with the others eating dinner. My dad is out working late, so it'll just be the gang along with my mom and the twins.

"How long have the rest of you known about this," my mom asks them.

"We've only known for three weeks," Beth clarifies.

Good thing the twins have no idea what we're talking about because they would for sure blab to dad and I'm not ready for him to know just yet.

"When are they due," she asks me and Danny.

"Early spring," he says excitedly.

I lean over and kiss him on the cheek for his cuteness.

"Mommy, when is what due," Greg asks with confusion.

"Do you have homework that's due," Jane asks with a thoughtful expression.

"It's nothing to worry about guys," I tell them with a smile.

They just shrug and go back to eating and chatting about something going on at school.

We finish eating with small talk and then we go watch a movie. The twins and I chose Moana and whatever I want I get.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I must have fallen asleep because before I know it, it's morning, and I'm waking up in my room with Danny's arms wrapped around me and his hands resting on my stomach.

I turn around to look at him and move a piece of hair that has fallen across his eyes. He opens his eyes at the movement and fixes his gaze on me. I give him a smile and say, "Good morning handsome."

He smiles back and says, "Good morning beautiful." He places a kiss on my forehead and gets up to stretch. He turns back around and catches me looking at him. He gives me a smirk and a peck on the lips before getting up and going to the bathroom.

Thankfully, it's Saturday and I don't need to get up just yet, but the babies have a different idea.

"You guys can't let mommy relax," I say to my belly while getting up to go pee. I barge into the bathroom and scare Danny while he's brushing his teeth.

"I have to pee," I tell him when he looks at me. A look of understanding crosses his features and he goes back to brushing his teeth while I go pee. When I'm done I go to brush my teeth while he leaves to go check on the others.

I head down the stairs and to the kitchen and see everyone up and talking to my parents.

"Hey, guys," I say, going up to give my dad a kiss on the cheek because I haven't seen him for a couple of days. Everyone says their greetings and I head over to grab the breakfast that my mom made. We all chatter and the topic of me being with children doesn't come up, which I'm thankful for. I'll tell my dad when it is the right time, which is when Danny is not around.
