"Hello everyone! My name is (Y/N) (L/N), I'm a third year here at Shiratorizawa, and I'm going to be your manager for the year. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask me. Of course, help with school is no exception and you can come to my dorm wich is 1107 on the left side of the school," you introduced. The boys of the volleyball team seemed to vibrate in excitement. Except for Tendou. "Um, if I could do a quick roll so I can learn everyone's names?" You asked the coach. He nodded, and you went down the list.
"Alright, thank you all! Well, I guess I'll see you tomorrow. Remember practice starts at 6 am," you shouted as the boys left. I was supposed to lock up, and started picking up. "Coach is making me stay behind to help you pick up, so here I am!'' Shouted a voice. You jumped, and screamed, grabbing onto something. "Hey there," a voice said from above me. You squeaked and jumped back. You looked up a bit and met the red eyes of a boy. "Oh... it's just you Tendou. Thank god," you sighed out. He couldn't believe your words. 'She's relieved to see me? That's a new one." You grabbed the clipboard that had fallen on the floor, and turned your attention back to him. "So, should we start with the nets first?" You asked. He nodded, and went to the opposite pole.
By the time you two cleaned up, it was about an hour after curfew. "Shit. Why does Ushijima keep you all so late? We're going to get in so much trouble... I better start walking back to my dorm, it's kind of far," you excused. "I'll walk with you there. My dorm is like across the hall from yours, I think," he said, as you two walked out of the gym. "And I've never noticed? What the fuck?" You scolded yourself. He laughed, and walked with his hands behind his head. "I always get up early for practice, and get there late. Because of practice," he explained. You nodded and smiled as you two walked back to your dorms. "Who's your roommate?" Tendou asked after a few minutes of silence. "Oh, my father decided to get me a solo room. He pays the extra 1,000 for it. He thought a roommate would just distract me from school," you explained. "Oh... I room with Ushibuddy~! That's fun though, I get to room with my best friend!" He exclaimed. You giggled, and sighed. "It gets kind of boring sometimes though. 3 years of high school and I've never had a boyfriend, never been on a date, haven't had my first anything, and I haven't had any friends," you said. "I'm in the college prep course, 12-A. You?" "We are in the same class then," he said nonchalantly. "WHAT IN THE F- sorry, how have I never noticed you? What? You're cute, I've never once- oh my god, I want to slap myself, " you shouted out of frustration. 'Cute? She thinks I'm cute? Liar.' Tendou laughed at your little monologue. "Now now, smart people are usually the ones who don't notice as many thing," he teased. "If you don't do something perfectly the first time, you can't do it at all and you're a failure," you mocked your father. "Oh! I've heard that one from my mom! Your dad says those things to you too?" He questioned. "All the time," you admitted. The rest of your guy's walk back to the dorms was filled with small talk and laughter.
Ad you were opening the door, you heard a groan from across the hall. "Hey, something wrong?" You asked, turning around. "Ushiwaka locked me out. And my key is in there, because I didn't plan on cleaning the gym... fuck my life," he groaned. "Just sleep in my dorm. We have to get up at the same time anyways," you suggested. "Bold aren't you?" He stated, leaning against the door. "How am I bold exactly?" You questioned, a small smile playing on your lips. "I could be a bad person. You only just met me today," he said, a smirk on his lips. "Oh yeah. I'm soooo scared of you," you teased. "Hm? You haven't heard the rumors?" He asked. "What rum- oh... Oh. You're that Tendou Satori. The monster? Yeah, I don't believe that shit. Get your ass in here," you said, opening the door to your dorm.
'She's not scared? And she's heard the rumors? What is this?' He could only think of how peculiar you were as he walked into your dorm. "I'm going to change, so if you could turn around please," you requested, as you grabbed your pj's. He complied, turning around and covering his eyes. "Do you have clothes to change into?" You asked as you were changing. "Yeah. In my bag, I always carry it around just incase. Especially after... nevermind," he started, not finishing. "You can tell me, I won't judge. But if you don't want to, that's fine as well. And... done!" You said as you finished getting dressed. He turned back around, and quirked an eye brow at you. "You really want to know?" He asked as you turned around so he could change. "Only if you want to tell me," you responded. You heard the sound of a zipper, and the shuffling of clothes. "Eh, what's the worst that could happen? My ex girlfriend, the day after she dumped me, poured honey over me. Because I used to call her honey. I didn't have a change of clothes, so I had to either go home, or suffer all day. I don't even want to consider our relationship a real because of her intentions with it, but you know. Done," he explained. You turned around, and hugged him. "Huh? (Y/N), what's this about?" He asked. It wasn't that he didn't like your touch... He did. 'No. You're not falling for her. You just met her, and you promised to not fall in love. Never again.' "I'm sorry that happened to you," you muttered. You had your face in the crook of his neck, and his eyes widened. No one had ever said words as sincere as that to him. They felt so genuine.... 'NO- Don't be a dumbass. You also thought Akari was genuine. And she wasn't. Don't fall.' "Let's go to bed, yeah? We have to get up early for practice tomorrow," you suggested, letting him go. "Alright," he said, falling to the floor. "What are you doing?" You asked. "I'm going to sleep," he said, his voice muffled from the carpet. "You're not sleeping on the floor. Get in bed with me. It gets cold at night, and you're my guest," you scolded, putting your hands around his torso, pulling him up. "Alright alright," he said, getting up. You smiled crawling into your bed, Tendou awkwardly following. He lay in bed, stiff as a board. "I don't mind if you accidentally touch me or anything. It's fine," you murmured. He lay under the covers looking up at the ceiling.
"Hey... Tendou... I mentioned before I've never had any friends... Can... can you be my friend?" You asked, turning in bed to face him. He stared back at you. 'She can't be serious. Why would anyone want to be friends with me? Especially a cute girl... wait. No not cute. No falling in love.' You stared back with you (e/c) eyes, hoping for a positive answer. "Yeah. I'd like that... I'd like that a lot actually," he responded with a small smile. A huge smile appeared on your face, and you pulled his body into yours, hugging him. "Thank you," you whispered in his ear. You fell asleep, forgetting to let him go. But a small part of him didn't want you to let him go, although every other part of him wanted you to not touch him. Falling in love was off limits. So why did you have to find a way past those walls?
