"She didn't say goodbye to me. I think… she was ignoring the entire time," Stellar confided while her eyes scanned Holden's face, waiting for an emotion to slip through the cracks, but it never happened. If she would read more into his reaction, she could bet that he was embarrassed over Freya's behavior.

"Don't worry about her. She'll come around." Holden paused and reached over to the center console to grasp Stellar's hand. "Anything else that you would like to ask? I'm all ears."

"Were you… close? Like really close?" The question flew out of Stellar's mouth before she could stop herself from asking. The mere fact that she asked about it gave away that she was bothered with what she saw earlier. "What are you smiling about? What's so funny?"
