He Will Never Marry You

Screaming over the phone, a voice that sounded exactly the same as Maya's said, "Is this why you didn't want to help me anymore? Did you see how handsome Lucas was and decided to keep him for yourself, you little sl*t? All this talk about him being kind and deserving better was all b*llsh*t! I was wondering why you were willing to give up your dream job at Lotus. Of course, who would want to work if they manage to marry one of the richest men in Hong Kong?"

Lucas listened quietly and did not say a word.

"Come on, Maya! Snap out of it! Do you think he really likes you for you? He's just attracted to 'our' appearance. Even if I was to replace you right now, he wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Besides, haven't you been acting as me? When he discovers how boring you are, he'll just go find another toy. I'm the only one that can marry him, control him, and keep him obedient. Moreover, I am in a much higher class than you. While you ran off to live with our lousy father, mother expanded her salon business with my stepfather and we are quite famous amongst the socialites of Hong Kong. If you return to Hong Kong, you won't be able to fit in there. You would just be an embarrassment to the Lee Family. I guess that's why his father chose to fly me all the way to Vegas instead of calling you when you lived in the same city. Don't forget that we are getting engaged soon. His family will never accept you. He is your future brother-in-law. He will never be yours and he will never marry an embarrassment like you! Stop dreaming!"

Lucas smirked. After everything that Maya had done for Delilah, he couldn't believe that Delilah would treat her sister this way.

Even though he had only known Maya for less than a week, he knew she wasn't the kind of b*tch and sl*t that Delilah claimed she was. How could she, as a sister, think of her this way? Did she think everyone was the same as her?

Marry him? Control him? Keep him obedient?

She was the one that was dreaming! He controlled his own life.

But even though Lucas thought this, he did not say anything. He had a much better way to deal with the woman. Removing the phone from his ear, he pressed the hang-up button while she was still talking and glanced down dotingly at Maya who was resting on his shoulder.

He felt bad for her and he wanted to protect her.

Remembering that the woman was drunk, he leaned down slightly and asked, "Maya, do you still want me to marry Delilah?" She had answered the other questions earlier, perhaps, she would answer this one too.

All of a sudden, the cute woman frowned and wrapped her arms around his waist. "No. She's not right for you. She doesn't even know you. How can you marry someone that you don't even know... You deserve better..."

Lucas smiled. Sometimes, alcohol helped people say the things that they didn't normally dare to say. It seemed, for Maya, it was almost like a truth serum. "Better? Aren't you better?" he asked. "Does that mean I should marry you?"

His heart melted a little when he asked this

Maya moved her head away from his shoulder and buried it into his chest. "Yes, that's not a bad idea...I guess I'm not that bad..." she replied modestly.

Lucas chuckled. In one swift movement, he stood up and carried the woman in his arms dotingly. "I also think it's not a bad idea," he whispered as he walked out of the restaurant...

...

Meanwhile, over at Sunset Hospital, Delilah stared at her phone in disbelief.

"She hung up on me!" she screamed. "That little b*tch hung up on me!!"

Tiffany quickly patted her on the back to calm her down. "Don't worry, I'm sure she got your warning and will back away. She doesn't belong in Lucas Lee's world, and he's too much of a player to take her seriously. Only marriage can tie him down, and he will never marry her. He doesn't even know who she really is! At least, you have Chairman Lee to back you up. She has no one... She's no match for you..."

Delilah glanced at the photos that Tiffany showed her earlier. They were all from the restaurant earlier. Some were of him smiling charmingly, some were of him eating...and some were of him topless in his board shorts. She couldn't help but fan herself a little. Who said Lucas Lee was ugly? He was as handsome as they could get! She had hit the jackpot!

She could already imagine running her hands across the man's muscly chest. The thought made her body heat up a little. He was even more handsome than Sam who she normally thought was quite good-looking. Narrowing her eyes, she put her phone aside. "I hope that's the case. The little b*tch better keep her hands off my man!"

Tiffany nodded her head reassuringly. But after the room fell silent again, she suddenly cleared her throat awkwardly.

Delilah was used to her best friend so she knew she had something else to say. "What is it?" she asked.

Tiffany bit her lower lip with hesitation.

"There's something else I need to reveal to you," she said softly as though she was hoping Delilah wouldn't hear and they could skip the entire topic altogether.

However, Delilah heard her clearly and stared at her curiously. "Go ahead," she said.

With a sigh, Tiffany frowned and said, "Sam's here at the hospital as well..."

Delilah's eyes lit up a little. "Is he here to visit me?" she asked with anticipation.

But, to her disappointment, Tiffany shook her head. "He came to see Sumi..."

Delilah furrowed her brows, "Sumi? The chick from the club? The one that was sitting on his lap all night?"

Tiffany nodded her head.

Delilah scoffed. Another woman that was trying to replace her...

"Does she know he's gay?" she asked.

Tiffany shook her head and Delilah laughed. "She doesn't know?" Delilah asked in ridicule.

Tiffany continued to shake her head. Clearing her throat awkwardly, she said, "I'm not shaking my head because she doesn't know..."

Delilah looked at the woman curiously.

"I'm shaking my head because Sam's not gay..." Tiffany revealed.
