Asking a woman out out of the blue

The subtle meaning tugged at Kara's heartstrings. "He did hurt you."

Ludovica shook her head. "Every father wants what's best for his child, right? Leo says that and Ashton is happy so he must be right. I just don't want to live here anymore, Kara. Help me escape."

Kara was caught offguard. "Okay, that went from zero to a hundred in an instant. "Can you tell me why you want to escape and why you chose me as the one to help you?"

"I hate the sight of blood." She cried. She didn't need to say anything else. No child would be comfortable seeing blood and torture every day, yet Ludovica must have had to witness it every day. "I don't have friends. Hell, I have to go through all this just to make a video call. What's the difference between this and hell?"

Kara touched the screen in an attempt to console her. "Have you tried talking to your dad? I'm sure he would take away everything that makes you uncomfortable. He loves you."
