Carlos dropped by on time and from his excited expression, she guessed he had rules in mind that she wouldn't be willing to follow.

Nonetheless, she let him in. "You're here early."

"Just in time to cook. I have to feed my wife first." He smiled.

"Stay here." He hugged her and pushed her onto the couch.

Her body obeyed him even though she didn't want to listen to him. While he cooked, she changed her mind about telling him what she had discovered the night before.

She was certain such transactions could only mean there was some illegal deal between the two families.

The most puzzling fact was that the second to last transaction happened a few days after Amanda's surgery while the last, after Shera's poisoning. That was definitely no coincidence.
