"Does it show?... No I don't think so. It hurts like hell though" she muttered to herself as she inspected her shoulder. The wound was turning into a ghastly shade of purple and she winced as she pulled her bra strap and shirt over it. The high neck, dark green shirt did a good job at hiding it. She had also left her brown hair open.
Shoving the concealer into the pocket of her black jeans, she looked at herself one last time and walked out.
The college corridor was nearly empty as the students had gone to their classes. She realized she was late and her eyes widened.
No! Not on the first day!
She ran with all her might, and opened the door of the classroom, heaving a huge sigh of relief as she saw that the professor was yet to arrive. She sat on the last bench and exhaled before looking around at the students. Some were staring at her. A boy winked at her flirtatiously and was promptly ignored. She did not consider herself to be very pretty. But with her mixed ethnicity of American and Chinese she did stand out in her small, rather backward town.
She had learned to ignore boys a long time back. They were nothing but trouble and that's the last thing she needed. Trouble.
The door flew open, startling her. A man walked in. He seemed young; as if he was in his early twenties, yet he behaved as if he was older. Silence flooded the classroom as he walked in and set his books on the table.
He had worn a black shirt and black trousers. His black hair was long and tousled. One could practically hear the girls drool as he raked his hand through his hair, his green eyes looked around the class.
"My name is Loki. I shall be your professor"
