The 'Normal Girl'

"Dumb students. The dungeons of Asgard seem a better alternative to this! " Loki muttered to himself as he opened books and began looking through them.

He was thoroughly angered as he had come to this college purely to work. Thor had given him the option of curbing the extent of his powers and coming to Midgard... or rotting in Asgard's cell: that he couldn't do. After finding out that he was adopted he simply could not bear to stay near Odin, and it hurt to see his mother...to see Frigga too.

A knock was heard on the door.

"Come in" Loki said sharply. The door opened and the brown haired girl from before walked in. She had worn a green jacket over a black shirt. He noticed her cheek more carefully- yes, it was indented; Not a slap, maybe someone held her cheek too hard?

She looked around his room which looked clean but not neat, his table was scattered with books and papers while the scent of coffee wafting through the air, presumably from his cup, which was steaming hot.

"Um, the worksheets are there" Loki said pointing toward a stack of papers, "they're all mixed up, I want you to separate all of them into these categories."

He handed her another paper. She took it and nodded. He seemed satisfied, she did not blush nor did she stare at him like a piece of meat- good.

He went back to reading his book, while she sat on a chair and began her work.

-----Time skip brought to you by peanut butter--------

Working on the papers, she was distracted by the sound of her cellphone. She looked up at Loki for permission and then picked the call.

" Hello? " She said softly.

"Where in the hell are you?! " Dan's voice boomed through the phone. Loki's keen ears heard it, but he pretended like he didn't.

She winced, "d… Dan I was late to class and so… "

"Why were you late? " He asked roughly," Dinner isn't even ready yet!"

"Because Andy asked me to give a book to his friend, and so I... I got late" she said. She looked at the professor who seemed not to care. In actuality, he was hearing everything. Who was this Dan? Who was Andy?

"I don't care. As soon as you get left you're coming home, and we go over the rules again. Do you understand? " He threatened, inciting a shudder in her.

"I... yes." She said dejectedly cutting the call, going right back to work with a deep sigh.

Loki looked at her from the corner of his eye. Her hands were shivering while her skin looked clammy.

What was the man going to do to her? Would he harm her? Wait. Why did he care? Who was she to him? She was a mere mortal!

He would do his work and go. He did not have time to worry about such people. After her work was done she got up and took his permission to leave.

He saw her as she left. She was worried about something and her hands still shook.

Should he help her? No. She didn't mean a thing. She was no one.
