The heart is so easily distracted.

"Hey! Take this I need it by tomorrow" Andy said as he shoved a few books into her hand. She looked at the books and controlled her sigh. He hit her head and walked away. It seemed friendly yet it hurt. She looked up and saw Loki at the end of the corridor. She held his gaze for a full minute before smiling awkwardly and turning away.

He remained expressionless. Who was that boy? He pulled a nearby student close.

"Who was the boy who hit that girl on her head just now? " he asked. The student looked at Andy.

"That's Andy Smith. Her brother."

Oh. So he was Andy? Loki's temper rose up suddenly. Why was he angry toward this boy when he did not even know him? He calmed himself and walked to his room.

He would not let his emotions be run by a mere human. He ran his hand through his hair as he looked out of the window and exhaled. He must learn to control his emotions. Everyone has Heartaches, so she had some too. Why was he so hurt by them? He steeled his nerves and walked out of his room but nearly collided into someone.

"Shit! I'm sorry professor. I.." she stuttered. It was her! For a split second Loki was glad to see her. Then he remembered what he had decided and steeled himself again.

"Can't you watch where you're walking silly girl? " he said sternly. She looked taken aback.

" I.. I really am sorry" she said quickly. Her eyes were wide. It hurt Loki a bit although he would not admit it.

"What do you want?" He spat out.

"You left this in class today" she said while giving him a book. It was a book he had brought from Asgard. It was about Asgardian history. He loved it because his mother had given him the book. It had a hard dark green cover. It was beautifully engraved.

"Thank you" he said as he took the book. She smiled.

"I hope you don't mind but… I… Uh I opened it to see whose it is and I read just a little bit" she said gingerly.

"How much exactly?" He asked.

She shrugged, " just... You know… the whole thing… I'm sorry! " she added hurriedly. Unable to control himself, He chuckled and smiled a warm smile at her which surprised her

"Wow. That's the first time I've seen you smile." She muttered. His smile reduced but the hint of it remained. He nodded, "You should go to class" he said. She reluctantly tore her gaze and turned to walk away.

"By the way. You should smile more. It... looks good" she said as she walked away.

He nodded and bent his head while smiling. He was blushing! Oh! This human would be the death of him!
