Chapter of Destiny, Part 2

"Well, then what are we waiting for?" Fred packed a few things and then threw a bag over his shoulder. "Leave your car here."

I scoffed. "Then what are we going to take?" I waved my hand at his beat-up pickup truck. "That hunk of junk?"

I made a mental note to curb Liv's smart remarks.

But Fred didn't seem to mind. "No, we're not taking that. We're taking something else." He locked up the shop and walked out back, expecting me to follow. "And don't call my baby a hunk of junk."

I smirked. "Sorry."

He scoffed, looking at me as if I had four heads. "Since when do you ever say you're sorry?"

I scoffed, lifting my shoulders. "People change."

We walked across the field to his house.

"Wait here," he said and then darted inside. When he opened the garage, a Dodge Charger was setting there.

"My eyes nearly bugged out of my head. "Why didn't you tell me you had this?"
